Can't believe this event turned into an invite only, VIP, celebrity and for the media to attend only. What a nice F you to the fans that wanted to see these fighters fight live at a venue. Instead they'll only be allowed via watching on tv. Normally I'm totally Okay with watching on TV and skipping overpriced tickets, however the fact that they're not even offering over priced tickets to an event that has some of the biggest names in boxing tied to it is messed up.
At least you got Canelo the next night and Inoue the following day. Imagine, 3 days straight of some of boxings biggest names/stars competing. Rare moment.Comment

I don't remember a weekend ever consisting of big names fighting on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.... Always thought it would be invite only. How exactly were they going to sell tickets when it is in times square, they'll have limited proper viewing seats. Considering the magnitude of the event, I was expecting them to perhaps assemble a large outdoor tent like when those circuses come to town, lol. Then have plenty of cheap chair seating and your usual ringside seats going for more. I guess that would have been over ambitious, but it just feels odd when there is a moment where you got the top players in the sport fighting and nobody is allowed to catch them live minus the exceptions.
This might be Rolly's retirement party. Then you got Ryan, Haney, Teofimo, their lesser dance partners. It just sounds like it would have made for an exciting live in-person event.Comment

NYC is a fight town and the masses would have turned up to see it. Too bad they shafted the fans that like to see these events live. I have been to the Garden and Barclays on fight night and it is electric. Can't believe this event turned into an invite only, VIP, celebrity and for the media to attend only. I'm thinking maybe the organizers didn't want to deal with the security that would be needed for such a huge outdoor boxing event in TS, NYC.Can't believe this event turned into an invite only, VIP, celebrity and for the media to attend only.
