  • How famous Anthony Joshua would be if he was an American Heavyweight?

He was one of the most famous boxers in the world despite coming from the UK. Would he have been more famous if he was from the USA ?

I don't think he'd be as big. Hearn did an amazing job of promoting him and practically brought in a new audience/era of casuals and cucks.

The U.S is massive but they don't care for boxing, they never got behind Wilder or any other HW prospect in recent times. They don't care for smaller fighters either anymore. Which American even does good numbers? Tank maybe, about it.

thats odd most of the big fights occur in america and most of the young prospects in the sport are american

America hardly has any big fights just pure mismatches that for most part do not involve American fighters.
They have a lot of prospects but nobody cares for them, they don't sell tickets, none are PPV worthy that includes Tanks mismatches.

American boxing has been on life support since Floyd retired.

Tank the supposed face of boxing. By far the biggest fighter in America barely even does 250k PPV buys.

American boxing is dead in the dirt.

Ryan Garcia had better PPV numbers than Wilder vs Fury 3. Wilder is not as handsome & articulate as AJ which also plays a role with AJ markability.

American heavyweights are generally like Wilder. Ali was an incredible exception to the rules. handsome, Black, articulate heavyweights do not tell a story that resonates with boxing fans in Murica. We like beasts... Big punchers that threaten to kill the opponent. Lewis was totally abused by the American boxing public and pundits for years. Even after he beat the very best, never failing to give the fans the fights they asked for, avoiding silly mandos to fight live wires... And avenging both defeats, as soon as it was perceived he was less than examplory against Vitalie, despite him showing incredible fortitude, chin, willfullness and skill, Merchant and company went right after him.

If Lewis had been Holyfield in that situation with Vitalie he would have been lauded for the performance of a lifetime... Merchant was simply a drunken foolish bellwether for the American attitude regarding a proper heavyweight. And when Lewis shoved this idiotic theme up the collective rear ends of the Murican boxing establishment, they could not wait for an opportunity to damage his credability.

Alas, Lewis lost it with Merchant, and he had every right to do so... He also got the last laugh as he exited the boxing stage when he could have fought a bit longer. He left the division ripe and waiting for the next Murican heavyweight... And no one showed up to claim the honor, to this day. Joshua, Fury... Neither is fit to carry Lewis' jockstrap anymore than Holmes was fit to carry Marciano's.
