I mean we have multiple Email Champions that is as bad as this. At least these two will fight for the title and its regular WBA aka interim belt, not really a big deal. imo

Also this current WW era is a crap anyway. I'd take Ryan vs Romero winner than Barrios lol

If nothing else it justifies the fight being 12 rounds instead of 10.
I care because the WBA have reneged on their commitment to abolish the 'regular' belt which most fans hated.

The winner of this fight will inherit the main WBA title when Ennis inevitably moves up in weight. The WBA has ordered him to fight Giyasov and then the winner of Romero v Garcia back to back. No chance he does that, if he can't unify he'll just move to 154.

This means the winner of Ryan vs Haney rematch will be the WBA mandatory to Boots?

In theory. The reality is that it will probably never get ordered. Those WBA 'resolutions' are not worth the paper they're written on.

The WBA already ordered Boots to face Giyasov, so Boots will probably just move up in weight leaving the Romero-Garcia winner as the de facto WBA champion.

Second mandatory. Giyasov is the current mandatory challenger to Boots and the Regular belt winner will be added on top of that. But in reality Boots will likely vacate leaving the Romero-Garcia winner as WBA champion with Giyasov as their mandatory.

If Boots moves up they'll probably create an 'interim' belt for Giyasov and let the Garcia - Romero winner do whatever they want.

Wouldn't be shocking. It's just sad that the WBA welterweight belt is going to end up being awarded to the winner of a 140 pound PED cheat vs a 140 pound B level hypejob.
