I still stick to my guns on this:

We the boxing fans should not care. These titles mean very little, and are designed to be kicked around. Who each fighter has faced is way more important to me. Strip all the belts from Bivol. Does anyone look at any one of the paper champs as a real champions over Bivol, or for that matter Beterbiev, simply because these useless sanctioning bodies say so?

Seriously, I am not worried. The winner of the rubber match between Beterbiev and Bivol is the greatest 175 of this generation. I have zero beef with Benavidez, but he is not a 175 champion. He is a belt holder. Go ahead and celebrate that, while a true champion faces another true champion in the boxing match that matters.

If there were a thread called "The 10 most egregious blunders of the Alphabet Soup Organizations, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO", this weird ass blunder would be featured on the WBA list....and theirs is quite a list!

Now that Benavidez has his emailed WBC surely he should be forced to vacate his 'regular' WBA which the other organisations don't recognise.

Benavidez said he was prepared to wait for the Bivol - Beterbiev trilogy in an interview not long ago, I guess his team got in his ear.

It's as if every sanctioning body strives to be the worst of the bunch.

And who's fault will that be? The champion who refuses to fight and drops 2 belts or the Challenger denied his rightful title shots? Think carefully.

True champions defend their belts vs top contenders, they don't drop them. I can't believe people will defend Bivol if he drops two belts and blame David. The canelo fan boy haters are deranged.

notice the mandatories are law crowd doesn’t have the same energy regarding that random German Bivol is supposed to fight

                  ROFL

All for fighters overstepping mandos when another fight makes better sense for the next immediate match

Callum should be Benavidez best performance

Ben already sold the Bivol fight with the sparring story

now he just needs to put on a good performance first at 175
