It was interesting how quickly sky comms seemed to accept the stoppage after Macklin initially questioned it.

Matt Macklin (on comms) and Andy Lee (Whittaker's trainer) would likely have been stopped another few times in their career if the action was interpreted like last night.

I don't want to see people hurt and I hate to see people take that free shot that puts people unconscious like some folks do but that didn't look like it was going to happen when stopped.

I get that at some point you have to throw punch but Cameron is significant slower. He actually would get caught on the chin in an exchange in that instance.

His defence is just that Artur Abraham like high guard.

Fury got 8 count in the same situation against Usyk. Refs are ruining the fights by applying rules inconsistently.

Solid performance technically, but? I don't really think Ben Whittaker should have been celebrating like the way he did 'It was a domestic level fight, one that he should have won in rather easy fashion first time around'.

Ben Whittaker's first performance vs Liam Cameron I, may well have been down to 'The way he was training at the time tactically i.e. what type of exercises and training sessions he was choosing to focus on. Sometimes fighters lose fights, or underperform not due to lack of effort but? Because tactically they have structured their training camps sub-optimally. Potentially Whittaker's peak years could be as a Cruiserweight fighter, but unlike Tony Bellew? Ben Whittaker will have to heavily rely on his boxing skills in order to become a top level fighter. As I don't think Whittaker has a great level of punching power, he is similar to Chris Eubank Junior in that regards. But Eubank Junior seemed to have other attributes such as durability and endurance to a very high level, which negated his lack of punching power'.

To conclude: Overall this is the first time I have really paid much attention to Ben Whittaker 'This entire saga with him and Liam Cameron I & II. There have been comparisons made of him to Prince Naseem Hamed, which I think are miles off. Prince Naseem Hamed as a domestic level fighter, was on a completely different level to Ben Whittaker'.

It is apparent that Ben Whittaker has some ability, and is not your average joe fighter 'But we can already see attributes where he is lacking big time, punching power, potentially endurance and durability. I think it may be a race against time for Whittaker to achieve world level feats at 175 pounds, before he begins to struggle to make the weight limit. Regardless, he still produced a good performance while under serious pressure, I am sure his experience as a top level amateur fighter prepared him for this rematch' etc.

Liam can fight another day now. But he got caught with a good punch. We didn't get to see if Liam could recover fast? I thought he might shake it off.
But again he was clapping. Sure we'd like fight to last longer to see what would happen but overall in big scheme of things it was ok.

The annoying thing is that he probably was on his way to being stopped, but waving it off that early? We'll never know.

He did catch Cameron, but there were signs Whittaker was tiring again.

He started getting caught by a lot of jabs, took a few deep breaths. Right hands were landing.

Yeah, he caught Liam with a huge shot, but Cameron didn't go down and was very live. If the ref let him weather the storm, the fight was very much alive.

Ridiculous the fight was stopped and also ridiculous that there will probably be no investigation into the stoppage.

The journeyman was hurt, then lots of unanswered punches, if the rope was not there he would have gone down, at best ref might have gave a standing count but Cameron didn't care himself that it was stopped. He knew he's a journeyman he was hyped up with most of you claiming he schooled Whittaker just because he had a good 5th round first fight lmao

Poor stoppage but I think Whittaker looked much BETTER under Andy Lee...he seemed more focused, disciplined etc with less showboating and boxed well.

Looking forward to seeing him progress.
