Damned near whoever Shannon fought, went to sleep. I get your point though. I didn't say he fought the same level of competition George did, just that his KO % is very high and he also fought a lot of pro fights, compared to many modern heavyweights. The fact that he was able to do as much as he did, while having asthma, says a lot about who he was. He's definitely cut from a tough, old school cloth

I hope to age gracefully.
It's humbling for the strength and energy of youth to leave, especially for a fit and athletic person, but it happens to all of us who live long enough. And as it does we should be moving into a different chapter and role in life.
Better to go gracefully than embarass ourselves by not letting go.Comment

Briggs wishes he accomplished half of what Foreman did, comparing Big George with Briggs is insulting to one of the best heavyweights boxers ever. Hell, a 48-year old Foreman beat Briggs decisively; Big George was robbed that night. What elite names did Briggs ever knock out? Contrary to Foreman, Briggs was unable to put world class fighters to sleep. Not saying he wasn't fun to watch, but he lacked the stamina to compete with the best boxers of his generation.
His loss to Lewis was probably his best fight....Comment
