After Jaron Ennis unified two of the welterweight titles in dominant fashion, who should the Philadelphia-based boxer face next?

Ennis needs to try to get Norman and Barrios in the ring to further unify the welterweight division. If he doesn't, and Norman emerges as a great champion, there will be talks of "ducking" as to why this fight never happened.

Ennis will eventually move up and I assume Ortiz will be there to welcome him to 154lbs. No rush for now.

It's a shame he doesn't haven't have a better resume before moving up but not his fault he's viewed as high risk / low reward.

He needs name opponents, even if they have to overpay to get them.

They had the Norman fight almost done but wouldn’t anti up an extra $500 000 to get the fight done
What does that tell you ???

I personally would still prefer him to make some offers to Barrios and Norman. He's established himself as THE man to beat at 147. Make them go on record trying to be the best or be the ducks. He's got momentum now, and if they want to build him into a bonafide star, they need to invest in making the fights, rather than letting him languish at either 154 or 147 taking more meaningless fights. He's got a signature win, finally, to start his career.

Ortiz has his own business to handle at 154. He's next up for the winner of Fundora v Zayas, and that nets him two belts. Then either Murtazaliev or Tellez after he gets email elevated when Crawford retires after the Canelo fight can come looking for the smoke.

If Ennis really wants all the smoke, he should be going for Norman and trying to get the WBO belt, then push as quickly as possible for them to name him Super champ, so he can get a guaranteed title shot at the holder of the WBO belt, which figures to be Ortiz by the time he moves up. Hopefully Eddie will be willing to up the ante after seeing the ease with which Ennis disposed of Stanionis.

If he's going to move up without finishing out strap season at 147, I would like to see him vs Bohachuk as an appetizer before he takes on Ortiz. Makes the narrative better, and Bohachuk won't duck any smoke and will do his best to give as good as he gets.

His resume is crap. He’ll get Barrios next. Easiest title unification in boxing at the moment and then Norman, probably 2nd easiest unification in boxing at the moment.
So gonna be a waste of 12-16 months for Bootsy and we’ll see if he can step up after that.
