Danny Garcia was average or just above average at welterweight. Was very good at lower weights though.
And Shawn Porter was very athletic and quick / strong but not the best boxer to begin with.
Those fights were over a decade ago and hasn’t done anything of consequence in five years.

Not the same Thurman not even close, nowhere near the speed and snap that he had at WW, 6 yrs ago with Manny 8 yrs ago for Porter that's a lifetime in boxing, Thurman is pretty much done at top level, him vs Tim was designed a long time ago to be hyped for the Aus market, all part of the game, old Lion bows out with a good payday and pumps up a youngster on the comeback trail looking for a name with little risk.

Can you really be that excited about "being back" after facing such an abysmal opponent?

Coming of 2 loses the last one was a hash lesson, they gave him a good moral booster he did what he was supposed to do, Manny did it with Rios, Cotto with Jennings just the way it goes after a real bad loss, no doubt Tim will get another title shot they are playing it smart.

Fair play! I can respect that. Hopefully, Thurman can remain healthy enough in order for the fight to happen. I am of the belief that Tim just may be a tad bit overrated by his fans. I just can't see where he is all that special of a fighter.

Lets be realistic , Joey was gonna go down and hard
The way he puts punches together, the velocity and the diversity of punches , imo is very impressive
That is why papa Spencer threw that towel and it came fairly fast that meant the impact of those punches live were damning

No more headhunting and patience will be favourable for him
Did you see his post fight interview ???
He mentions what a horrible plan he’s had until now getting swept by his own ko’s
Maybe or maybe not; However, this was a showcase fight for Tim Tszyu anyhow. in order to make him look good. We will know for sure how good he really is once he starts raising his level of competition again. Overall, at least it put him back into the win column which is always a good sign.
