Comments Thread For: All Oz on me: Tim Tszyu returns with stoppage of Joey Spencer

Tim Tszyu got the confidence-builder he needed, stopping Joey Spencer in the fourth round Sunday in Newcastle, Australia ? and then called out Keith Thurman.

It was a good performance by Tim showing that he learned his lesson. He was patient, showed respect in the first couple of rounds before upping the ante in the third and then closing the show in the fourth. If he showed this much respect to Bakhram Murtazaliev in his last fight .. who knows? This was the fight he needed to get back on his feet and get his confidence up. His next fight will be a real measuring stick as to where he really is at in terms of the 154 division.

Tim says he wants Thurman next. Dangerous fight for both of them. In fact, every fight from now on will be make or break as the 154 division is stacked with talent.

Joey Spencer, the perennial prospect from Michigan. Are we not entertained?

How about Charles Conwell next ? Conwell is undefeated, very dangerous, but seems to be left out in the cold since the Patrick Day tragedy. I doubt Tszyu fights anyone even remotely dangerous.

Doesn't have a name yet beyond the hard core boxing fans and yet too dangerous at the same time. Cannot see that match up for now. Cannot see any of the names fight Conwell at the moment. Both Tim Tszyu and Keith Thurman will go for the money in the short term (and the long term).

Nice comeback win and confidence builder for Kostya Tszyu. These are the type of fights he need in order to rebrand himself. So far, his handlers are doing the right thing by slowly rebuilding him.

I just wouldn’t throw him to the wolves just yet. Give him at least another three fights before putting him with elite competition.

There is no need to cash him out. He is not ready for a Keith Thurman just yet.
