1). “In reality fighters at the level of prestige of Canelo don't need to fight Benavidez'

But that same prestige will allow them to fight Berlanga, Ryder, Munguia, or a Jr Middle Weight Charlo who has done zilch at 168. Do you think Charlo was a better opponent than the top guy at 168?

2). “stylistically, Benavidez is not only a fighter straight up Canelo’s street i.e. not a very high skill level, defense is nothing special, and movement is limited.

Stylistically, do you think the 5 names I listed are all high skill level, great defense with crazy movement? If Benny is that easy, Canelo would have fought him.

3). “I don't think the fight should happen at 168, as Benavidez is most likely dead at the weight now. Which is not Canelo’s fault”

Benny has been calling out Canelo for over three years. The raging debate on this platform and every other one is about Benavidez getting his shot as a mandatory to Canelo’s belts. No one is celebrating the 5 names I listed. Instead of fighting Benny, Canelo fights those guys.

4). “I think it is certain areas of the boxing media who are overrating completely Benavidez”

None of those boxing media have written anything glowing about the 5 names I listed. Not one. So why is Canelo fighting them. Are they all wrong?

Benny is Mexican like Canelo so if it’s a question of money, Canelo will make way more than he made fighting Charlo or Ryder or Berlanga.

I’m guessing you disagree with pretty much every writer that has called out Canelo for ducking Benny?
David Benavidez has not been a top fighter at 168 pounds, since late 2023 'Benavidez lost his WBC World Super Middle Weight title, due to not being able to make the weight limit. And he lost it again for being a recreational drug taker. That is his legacy at 168 pounds'. Like I have just stated in my previous posts, if David Benavidez retires tomorrow, his legacy does not have much of a impact in the sport of boxing'.

The very fact that YOU and many other people are complaining over the level of Alvarez's oppositions 'Shows that you all rate him as a fighter highly. There are not many fighters in the Middle to Super Middle Weight Divisions, in the latter stages of their career outside of their peak. That can be criticised for fighting opponents at the level of Edgar Berlanga, Jaime Munguia, John Ryder and Jermell Charlo'.

Jermell Charlo is a better fighter and Champion than David Benavidez 'He was the Undisputed Middle Weight Champion, at the time he fought Canelo Alvarez. He had also beaten all the fighters he had ever fought, due to avenging his one loss to Tony Harrison'.

I keep seeing people saying things like 'David Benavidez has been calling out Canelo Alvarez. Benavidez has been given interviews to the alternative media, while he is possibly over 100 miles away from Canelo Alvarez. That is not good enough. Because once again? Like I stated in my previous posts, David Benavidez is not the only big fight opportunity for Canelo Alvarez. At any given time, there have been multiple mega potential fights at 160 pounds and all the way through to 175 pounds which can be made for Alvarez. Fights vs Dmitry Bivol II, Artur Beterbiev and most recently a intriguing fight against Terrence Crawford'.

Note: The onus is on David Benavidez to pursue Canelo Alvarez as a contender and challenger ' But in my opinion, Benavidez has never been that enthusiastic to challenge Alvarez ever in physical reality. Even when the stage has been set in front of the Worlds sports media, such as during the Jaime Mungiua vs Canelo Alvarez fight week'.

David Benavidez was present all fight week, but he was nowhere to be seen or heard 'On the topic of Canelo Alvarez. Even in the initial aftermath the fight, there was nothing stopping Benavidez from doing what many fighters have done in boxing history. Benavdiez could have challenged Alvarez right there and then inside the boxing ring'.

People need to think back to when Muhammad Ali confronted George Foreman ringside after his destruction of Ken Norton 1974. David Haye turned up to a charity event, and ambushed Wladimir Kiltschko way back in 2008. And Bernard Hopkins already as an All-time great fighter, went out of his way to confront and challenge Joe Calzaghe'.

David Benavidez has never officially within physical reality challenged Canelo Alvarez 'People at this late stage of his career, may attempt to demean and mock Alvarez. But I have never seen him as a competitor shy away from a direct challenge as a fighter. This is why I have always believed that David Benavidez does not really want to fight Canelo Alvarez to the level that many people proclaim'.

I disagree with every single media writer who in 2025 is claiming that Canelo Alvarez is avoiding David Benavidez 'How can Alvarez be avoiding him when? Benavidez is no longer an active 168 pound fighter? Canelo Alvarez is still a World Champion, and if he wins his next fight vs William Scull he would of become the Undisputed Champion at 168 pounds for the second time in his career'.

The fight between David Benavidez and Canelo Alvarez in my opinion has not happened due to 'David Benavidez being unable to make the 168 pound limit, being a recreational drug taker. And not showing any incentive to confront Canelo Alvarez within physical reality with old school tactics, that for the most part in boxing history have worked in the game'.

To conclude: If the fight is to happen in the future in my opinion 'The fight should be staged at 175 pounds. Although I think the match up may have lost his marketability, because like I said? Benavidez is not this mega fighter certain folk in the boxing community of claiming'.

Currently right now David Benavidez has zero World titles 'His legacy in the game so far, is that he has lost the World title twice. Once due to not being able to make the 168 pound weight limit, and then for being a recreational drug taker'.

And this why David Benavidez is being completely overrated 'Benavidez is not at the level of Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Erislandy Lara, Gennady Golovkin, Sergey Kovalev, Dmitry Bivol, Floyd Mayweather Junior. All the great fighters Alvarez has fought win or lose'.

David Benavidez has to prove to me, and Canelo Alvarez at this latter stage of his career 'That he is a worthy challenger. And in order to do that? David Benavidez at 175 pounds has to get some top level wins, and somehow capture a World title' etc.

I said so called face of boxing because I currently believe boxing is faceless at the moment because no one is really carrying the sport right now. Ppv buys are in the toilet and that includes Canelo. Especially when you consider what he gets paid, he doesn’t generate the same interest as previous faces of boxing. He appeals to his Mexican American fan base and beyond that, very limited.
As far as resume, yeah he did some good stuff in the previous decade (2010’s) and mainly against aging names, but hasn’t made for any truly significant fights in this current decade.

I agree with your first statement, but not your second. Alvarez will never fight Benavidez. I've said it before, Saul is nearly 6.5 years older than David, so waiting does not favor Canelo.

Benavidez has accomplished plenty, Canelo, including making you have nightmares about fighting him.

                      Canelo said nothing wrong.

And Benny team is doing everything to burn Bivol fight also.
