Saudi Arabia events bad for big-time boxing

No atmosphere, no real interest in boxing, the shows are void of any passion and quite frankly, weird. One night, His Excellency got into the ring on 3 separate occasions for these reasons. 1. Inducted into some Boxing Hall of Fame. Lucidrous. Treating this guy like he is Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Rocky Balboa or Nash Out. 2. He gets in again for a world championship belt. The guy's never had a fight! 3. He gets into the ring for a very rigged contest when some guy, who enters down the aisle clearly knowing beforehand that he had already won a super car. Maybe a friend or lover of His Excellency.

Great fights are held at New York, Vegas, Wembley, and Eddie Hearn's Garden. We have great memories of the fights and the locations. Even in Hearn's Garden when he put on multiple iconic fights during Covid, the sound of the punches landing was thrilling, and bouts contested by clean athletes like Povetkin vs Whyte live long in the memory.

The occasional fight in rare locations such as Africa is fine, but let's stop this Saudi Arabia nonsense. 90% of all major fights should be held at one of the above locations. Nash believes that the very real Lineal belt can not be fought for in Saudi Arabia, nor can a unification and any rematch involved also does not count. Nash hereby declares Tyson Fury vs Uysk to be both No Contest results and Tyson Fury is now unbeaten again. They fight again in Hearn's Garden before rematching at the Peppermint Hippo in Vegas. I don't think anyone's noticed but they didn't actually improve how often anyone fights.

In 23 they started their Riyadh Season

It's 25. We've had two HW title fights in that time. Three if you count Danny. in 2 years.

Fury had four fights between 20-22

    Joshua had three.

    7 is more than 2

That said, can't hate on unis and stacked cards bro.

Get paid more, fight less, be on a stacked card with huge numbers, just might lose is all.

The cards have been great. Just the atmosphere is a bit dead to me, especially for none elite level names. Zurdo vs Billam Smith, for example, if in UK, would have been rocking. And I feel eventually the Saudi's might get bored of it, and fighters will have to settle for lower payments elsewhere or retire early. All the music during the cards are irritating as well. Not wanting to watch a 1 hour music concert on fight night. Nash out - His Most Majestic Majesty

everyone seems to think fighters are raking it in in saudi which is the main view and fighters seem to really want to get on these cards but the listed pay or upfront pay is listed as low so there is some clever accounting going on or else fighters are fighting for average amounts on these cards, which is it?

They definitely earn more in Saudi, whether that reflects in the purse is another matter, but, overall fighters are definitely paid more in Saudi compared to UK/US.

                  I like fights in Saudi

I watch boxing to see athletes scientifically strike each other

Afterthoughts are hearing grown men in the crowd chant like cheerleaders and seeing ring girls

I know two fighters who’ve fought in Saudi two and the times respectively. I know exactly what one was paid for his two fights and it was far more than he got a for a World title fight in the UK. However, no idea how it was broken down in regards to purse, upside, incentives, bonuses etc.
