  • Comments Thread For: Vergil Ortiz did better against Israil Madrimov than Terence Crawford, says Oscar De La Hoya

While Crawford troubled Madrimov with single counter shots and outworked him, Ortiz truly overwhelmed the tricky Uzbek at times.

1, Styles make fights and triangle theories are not a smart way to rank fighters. See: Ali, Foreman, Norton, Frazier head to head.
    2. There's a difference between beating someone when they're an undefeated reigning world titlist and beating them coming off of their first loss

I agree with the first one but he still has a point

Your second point is meaningless. I could argue that he's hungrier than ever to come back from his first loss.

I love how you tried to sensationalize it though "undefeated reigning world titlist" good gaslighting

The Crawford Ortiz stuff, please… Ortiz had a chance to fight Bud and turned the fight down “TWICE!” As for Madrimov. People gave Madrimov more credit than he deserved during the Crawford fight. Then made him out to be some kind of monster after the fight. He was be beating Ortiz in the early rounds, but Ortiz adjusted and took him apart. Madrimov even looked sloppy at times. It’s funny how De La Hoya wants NOTHING-TO-DO with Bakhram Murtazaliev!

Turki acknowledged that Bud was offer the Vergil fight on the Bivol/Beterviev 2 card, but turned it down as well. Also, don’t discredit a fighter like Madrimov only b/c Vergil did a much better job dismantling him than Bud, the man is a Top 5 154 lbs he’s a big win for both of them. Also, why mention Bakhram when Vergil is nursing a damaged hand and a cut in the nose cause by those Madrimov headbutts? No reason for him to go to a championship fight w/t a disadvantage. Oscar is a 100% correct Vergil did a much better job handling Madrimov herky jerky movement

So what do they want a cookie or someting? Bud Is not returning to 154lbs so what does it matter? Can Ortiz Jr beat Canelo? Because that's what Bud is chasing, Greatness. Then retirement. As he should at 37 38 years old.

As for Ortiz Jr, He's in the same position as Thurman, Danny Swift, Porter and them were when Floyd was 37 years old like Bud is now and they were the young guys on the come up. Gotta go out there and create your own legacy Starting with other young Champions like Fondura, Boots or Murtazaliev because a Crawford vs Ortiz Jr fight is not happening at this stage.

Well, he has a point, although Madrimov looked 'off', or was he overrated.

Nothing wrong with Crawford or anyone at 36, body is fine, it's 46 and older, then it gets nasty, I know.

You need to go read the IBF rules. Murtazaliev can't fight Ortiz without likely having to vacate his belt, because Ortiz isn't ranked by the IBF. I doubt he even sent an offer, because it wouldn't be permitted.

Bud is selling out, but he's not coming empty handed. This is block buster stuff. I personally think Canelo is too big, Bud is coming up to 168 too late.
