The desperation for Beterbiev-Bivol III next highlights Turki’s lack of understanding of the sport.

Beterbiev deserves his rematch while he's still somewhat close to his top level. He had a long reign (October 2019 through February 2025) and the light heavyweight title is the oldest active lineage in boxing right now, stretching back unbroken to Pascal v Dawson in 2010. Another six months could make all the difference between another competitive fight and a complete wash in Bivol's favor. Let Benavidez blast out the IBF mandatory challenger in the meantime so that they don't end up giving their belt to the winner of Tyler Eifert vs Connor Wallace or some other awful nonsense.Comment

Because he's 40. It's that simple. Who knows how many more fights he has before his abilities drop off a cliff? It would be criminal to make him waste a training camp and a fight on some nobody. Especially with how often he's been hurt in camps.Comment

I don’t think either of the first two fights were all that entertaining too. Largely due to negative tactics from Bivol.Comment

being 40 he could have just retired off of the suspect decision in fight 1 that went his way
But Artur was honorable and gave Bivol an immediate rematch
In the rematch Artur took 4 rounds in a competitive bout and won the final round too
Artur earned an immediate rubber match
let start with what you see in Benavidez that makes him very good or light great then
I believe Bena is ranging from the level of Keith Thurman to Miguel Cotto
this guy gets injured again and there might be no trilogy. He’ll just retire
I guess if he gets injured while training again there wouldn’t be an immediate trilogy
but given the short notice Bivol would then fight a Mr nobody not Benavidez

Ben threw 150 punches less per fight against his good friend Morrell & Gvozdyk compared to Tiger Paw Artur’s output in the Bivol fightsComment

Then it's never for the trilogy, the fights were not that good. You really think Bivol will go from 3 fights with beterbiev directly to Benavidez? and if beterbiev wins, at 41, it will be a gamble with his injuries. The 3rd fight will look exactly the same as the previous ones. Since when is there an obligation for a trilogy?Comment
