Damn, Badou Jack hasn't defended his title in over 2 years?

    Wow, this is ridiculous

I like Jack, but guys like Jack & The Charlos are allowed to hold on to belts for years without defending them.

All in a 3 day span.

But I agree, none of the fights are must see outside of Ryan vs Rollie
They know it's a popular fight weekend, so they are flooding the market with boxing "product." Not a great fight in the bunch. Will Rollie get beat up again? Can Munguia not get KO'd this time? Can Teofimo still win a fight convincingly? How long will it take Inoue to KO what's his name? Will Scull land a lucky punch? It's the least essential storylines of the year lol

I have little to no interest in Canelo - Scull, but I like Bakole - Ajagba. A nice heavyweight fight. Not sure who wins, I hope Bakole comes in shape.

I do wonder if Badou Jack has any gas in the tank, his boxing smarts have helped him become a champ in a shallow division, but time catches up to you inevitably, thinking of how Hopkins was knocked out by John Smith.
Jack getting Bernarded is the likely outcome here. I can't believe he's taking this fight. Rozicki is naturally just too big and all wrong for an old inactive old guy with no legs who starts slow.

I will happily eat my crow, but I just dont see he has anything for the young guy. Rozicki took bombs from a bigger Rivas and wasn't deterred, I just dont see what jack has for an iron chinned slugger he cant get away from.

He wasn't champion the entire time, it was WBC nonsense.

After he beat Makabu to become WBC cruiserweight titlist, he informed them he wished to move up in weight to chase after the bridgerweight title. The WBC promised him a shot at that title and declared him cruiserweight champion-in-recess, and then let Mikaelian fight for the vacant title (which he won). Mikaelian was then ordered to defend against Rozicki, but he pulled out of the fight 5 separate times (his promoter is Don King, so you can imagine the nonsense that went on) so they stripped him.

Meanwhile, the WBC failed to deliver on the promised bridgerweight title fight for Jack, so he invoked his right as champion-in-recess to challenge for the cruiserweight title again. But since it was vacant and they screwed him over at bridgerweight, they just awarded him the title and ordered him to defend it against Rozicki rather than ordering him to face Rozicki for the vacant belt.

So technically he's a 2X WBC cruiserweight titlist and Mikaelian's 0-defense reign took place in between them.

When has Badou Jack ever run from a fight? He fought Anthony Dirrell, George Groves, Lucian Bute, James DeGale, Nathan Cleverly, Adonis Stevenson, Marcus Browne, and Jean Pascal consecutively and then moved up in weight to eventually knock out the reigning WBC champ Ilunga Makabu.

He's probably going to lose this fight, but nobody should be surprised he's taking it. He's not built to duck a challenge.

It's insane, rozicki is from my hometown and got done dirty on his title shot for quite a while. Jack was actually champion in recess and noel was champion...noel didnt defend either and they just swapped them while ryan has been waiting for a real title shot for a few years now.

It's sad because we arent a boxing hotbed by any means and it really shows how boxing politics effect folks who aren't big money fighters.

But hey, if this goes through, he gets his shot no excuses. And tbh this would be about the most winnable championship fight this guys will ever get. I would like to be wrong, but I don't see him competing with the other current champs style wise.

That being said, if he can win the wbc, as a fan a fight between him and CBS would be gatti ward stuff. Two guys who are as hard as nails and suffer a bit in the skill dept, yet are able to compete at the top level by being kinda 19th century.

No disrespect meant at all, I see your point and then some. I have enjoyed his career and I wouldn't blame the old fella for taking a bigger money unification is all.

Jfc that resume really is something! I watched and loved most of those fights and if everyone had a career like that there would be a lot less complaints on match ups on here lol

I just hope he doesn't get hurt is all.isI would normally be all for my hometown guy(we have never had a champ) but if jack wins I'll eat crow and be happy at the same time
