DB is a more complete fighter and physically bigger than Jacobs and Munguia, who are high output fighters that have caught and outworked Alvarez until he made the adjustments necessary to win in competitive fashion. Can't say David has that punching power that can end the fight, but he can certainly stun him when he puts weight behind his punches, he also has one of the highest punch accuracy statics in the sport along with his handspeed and reach.
    Alvarez iron chin hero

legendary 9/10 chin maybe even 9.5/10

His two biggest glaring flaws is he gases and has slow feet

    Bena could outwork him

if I had to bet on fight 1 bet is going on Alv

      Benavidez is much bigger
      Faster
      Much better gas tank
      Far higher volume
      Heavy handed
      Much younger and hungrier
      Highly skilled and versatile
      Brilliant combination puncher.

Yet you think Canelo would be the fav based on what? More skilled? He just comes forward throwing 1 punch at a time. Benavidez is also highly skilled, and tell me the last time a little man can beat a good big man, despite giving up all those attributes?

Canelo does not even think he would be favourite which is why he ducked him. Canelo went 8-4 with friggin Mungia lol.

I think David would have battered him and the towel would be thrown in or Canelo quits on the stool. That is what Canelo was scared of imo, not just losing but being stopped. I think he would have fought him if Benavidez was a Bivol type of fighter who will just beat you in a sparring session manner.

I agree, although beating Morrell in exciting fashion steered him in the right direction and if he were to beat Bivol next, he'd definitely make a name for himself without having to have faced Canelo. However, Canelo is surely the pot full of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Alvarez matchmaking clearly did not want to risk him getting knocked out and ending the gravy train

Instead of matching him with Artur or Benavidez both of whom Alvarez has a chance to beat

they matched him with his stylistic nightmare Bivol a fighter in the mold of Mayweather, a fast feet boxer-counterstriker with a masterful jab and excellent defense

Good thing for Bivol that defeating Alvarez gave him experience against great come forward guys with excellent defense

Bena and Alvarez are stylistically different but both fit that mold!

They matched him with bivol because bivol can't knock out canelo and if they did lose they would claim robbery, which is what they did. Benavidez and Beterbiev could beat down ans stop canelo so that's a no go zone for him. Some guys are just too dangerous and canelo knew that which is why he cowardly ducked benacidez for years yet people still pick him to win? Makes no sense. He had no confidence he could win which in any other sport is a forfeit. Canelo forfeited his ballz and left it up to fantasy interpretation on who would win but we know canelo didn't think he could win so it's strange to pick pick the guy who didn't think he could win

Do you really think Canelo and Eddie looked at Bivol and thought 'Yes lets fight this stylistic nightmare'? A fight nobody wanted against a nobody?

They clearly thought he was not that good, and very beatable. Thats the only reason they would take that fight with no demand, no huge pay day. Bivol looked pretty average in 2021.

Alvarez thought he’d catch a pre-prime Bivol but ended up getting got instead

Bivol improved a lot after the Alvarez fight and Artur 1

I believe Alvarez is a better puncher than Bena though

Alvarez is a 168 who one shotted Kovalev

Bena is huge compared to Alvarez but couldn’t ko Caleb Plant nor Gvozdyk
