Boxing is such a hard sport. Kudos for him trying to continue but theres other outlets these days. Hell, if you want to be a "world champ" go do bareknuckle or learn to grapple...

He has a better chance against Leo than Fulton.

Bareknuckle is an option but learning to grapple? He's 31 years old, he's not going to become a world champion grappler picking up the sport this late.

Gonzalez has lost four times, and all four were by decision to world level guys:
L vs Shakur Stevenson UD 12 (3 division world titlist, eventual unified and lineal 130 world champ)
L vs Emmanuel Navarrete UD 12 (3 division world titlist)
L vs Isaac Dogboe SD 10 (former WBO 122 world titlist)
L vs Luis Alberto Lopez UD 12 (then-reigning IBF 126 world titlist)

He could still pick up a strap, it's not like he's losing to bums or getting knocked out all over the place.

He can't "learn" grappling at this stage of his career but he can definitely win a title at Bare Knuckle fighting. Austin Trout is killing it over there. He can probably go undefeated over there for the next 3 years.

He might not be a big enough name to not get screwed in BKFC, though.

Dat Nguyen won their 135 pound title and then moved up to 155 and beat the dog crap out of Palomino, but they wouldn't give Dat the decision and then froze him out on his next contract. He wasn't a name like Austin Trout, so they let Palomino keep his belt until Trout himself came along and took it.
