Roach fought over his head aka “Regression to mean” and I don’t believe he will win the rematch. There is so much stacked against Roach. The judges, the ref and the promoters who are the A side, which is Tank.
There has to be another way to appeal this ridiculous decision aka robbery. I don’t know what that is because rarely does that happen. This decision should be a win for Roach but it will not change. Roach will lose the rematch and this asterisk-laden dubious win will go into the history books as a “Win” for Tank. Not for boxing fans.
A better way to understand this phenomenon is rising to the occasion, sometimes boxers do so for a wide variety of reasons, I'm thinking of someone like Buster Douglas against Tyson for example.
The Duran case is more complicated because he did very well after his loss, I think that Leonard's strategy for the first fight had a great impact in the result of that night. Leonard wasn't really trying to outbox Duran in that bout, he chose to be in the trenches with Manos de Piedra, which was the Panamian's area of comfort, hell, he was in them with Hagler and almost beat him. Sometimes a boxer just underperforms or brings the wrong strategy.Oregonian likes this.

If Roach gets a rematch instead of a decision win, I hope he rises to the occasion again. I hope he beats this cherry picking pampered protected embarrassment to boxing.
It’s going to be a tough challenge. As much as I insult Tank, I cannot ignore his skills and power. A lot is riding on him especially.

Under the circumstances; I think so. Even though I believed that Lamont Roach won the fight. The fight was close and could have gone either way.
Tank virtually swept all of the early rounds and initiated almost all of the exchanges; While landing several crisp, accurate and clean punches in the process. Roach had done the very exact same thing.
For the exception; I believed that his punches were the more impactful and effective. As they did more damage to Gervonta Davis while hurting him in the process.

In knowing Al; He will do everything necessary in order to protect his only cash cow. So unfortunately, there will be no appeal of this verdict. Al won't allow it. Therefore, the Draw stands.

Great analysis on the overall by pundit here and this is a great article. In Crawford vs Kavaliau....why didn't bud get 10-8 for taking a knee after 3-4 punches landed on him, in AJ vs Pulev, Pulev wasn't counted nor disqualified for turning back at AJ, FLOYD Jr vs Zab, Floyd touched the. Canvass with no count.......all these sht happens
What if Yank was awarded MD win??? Canelo got a couple of fights as gift too
