i am from the UK but i thought Dirrel won that fight....but then he was very negative at times....and if your gonna win a world title you've got to win it big....he was trying to steal it at times...he said he didn't know why the ref took a point but he was like a sailor holding on to a mast at times....you cant win a title like in the eyes of judges!
That being said IMO Dirrel won that fight:boxing

On a non-boxing level...I thought he fought like a ***** for near half the fight but it was effective in a boxing sort of way. And then after the point deduction he certainly fought much better. If he had fought that way he would have won, maybe even knocked Froch down one or more times. But, who knows if he could have given the pace of a 12 round fight.

Hatton actually went really old school with the grappling. Boxers way back used to do the same to wear down their opponents and control the action. So with that, I understood it and also thought it was a smart decision to do against at 35+ year old, worn torn, inactive fighter that still carries power and timing. However, it was still bull**** given today's era of looking down on holding.
Yer, what Dirrell did was, I guess, 'effective' - effective in stinking out the arena and pissing everyone off. I mean even his corner said he needed the KO.

As for Hatton, I'm not a fan of his style at all. The rounds he decided to box Tszyu, he was sent ******ed with the power shots landed by Koysta....

King Arthur will **** this guy up honestly, he has better skills and defense then Froch.

Dirrel did the same **** he has done before, running, holding, going down to his knees(THE ****ING SHOWTIME commentators mentioned he had done in previous fights). How does this win a fight? comparing him to mayweather is a complete DISGRACE too

Honestly can someone tell me why he went down 3 or 4 times? he wasn't off balance either.. first the multiple low blows by Taylor now this, no wonder the yanks are getting mad

You really expect, actually expect, for a yank to come over to the champions yard in Nottingham Arena and rob Froch of his title?

What I just watched wasn't a fight - it was a marathon with Dirrell almost breaking the world record.

Dear me, what a DISGRACE and the Americans are crying robbery?
LMFAO. All the score cards I have seen are very close either way.

All I saw for the majority of the rounds was Dirrell firing superficial shots towards Froch and then holding. All the while, Froch was battering him on the inside.

And the complaints about the point deduction? LMFAO. Dirrell went down about 5 times within 3 rounds of his own accord and expected not to start irritating everyone? What a joke.

Next time I hope he engages - and gets the brutal KO that is coming to him.

Points should have been deducted from Froch for the Body Slam and the excessive blows to the back of the head.
