Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson vs Joshua Padley: who wins and why?

Almost 32 years have passed since the day that Tim Tomashek, a part-time heavyweight journeyman who worked at a department store chain?s distribution center, was pulled out of the crowd, ushered backstage and emerged a couple hours later to fight Tommy Morrison for a heavyweight belt, live on ESPN

Strange as it may seem, I think a stoppage loss for Padley will reflect better on him than a points defeat. Clearly, Padley has come in in bizarre circumstances & with almost no hope. He & Shakur could co-operate in a 12 round spar where Shakur repeatedly moves Josh around, undresses him, lets him get dressed again & repeats. I don't think Josh wants that. I'm sure we will see that in the first 3 rounds. Shortly after that, I think Josh Padley will try & be violently aggressive & put damage on Shakur & Shakur will have to spark Josh. Padley is straight out of Doncaster where they love their guns, drugs & violence. I think he'll give it a go. Shakur by KO or stoppage between 4-6.

...a British electrician who tells FightHub he was installing solar panels the day he was offered the fight with WBC titleholder Shakur Stevenson on less than a week’s notice, had the benefit of trading punches with any of his co-workers leading up to his unlikely opportunity on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Anything can happen in boxing but the title of the article seems to ignore the obvious.

Same here. I hope the working man gives the performance of a lifetime, but I'll take Shakur coming in overconfident and lazy too.

As an underdog loving Brit, as well as a guy who firmly believes Shakur beats everyone...

              ...this is a huge insult.

Shakur isn't knocking anyone out, and even if he's overconfident, which he has every right to be, he's still levels above. But even a low KO guy can get really lucky. Here's hoping for that miracle. What a story that would be. I have no idea how it would be even possible though.
