Comments Thread For: John Scully: Artur Beterbiev is focused on Dmitry Bivol, not David Benavidez

There already has been plenty of talk about a trilogy fight ahead of Saturday's Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol rematch in Saudi Arabia. While others salivate at the prospect of Beterbiev being paired with David Benavidez, that is nowhere near the agenda for Beterbiev or trainer John Scully.

"not eating fired foods" - what are they? Is that Canadian for s-p-i-c-y? And if so how are they detrimental?

John knows his boxing and has been around everyone and I see the scar tissue as well but Bivol isn't an ordinary dude either and I respect that you have a plan but so does the other fighter, also Artur Beterbiev got the win but in many eyes it was flip flop and could have went either way especially had not Bivol took his feet off the gas in the last few rounds. The danger here is will Bivol put himself in harms way by trying too hard and allow himself to get caught and hurt which could be his biggest danger. I do believe Bivol should have waited a few more months where Artur is 41 and Bivol is heeled and changed, the youth was on his side. Artur has physical advantage due to damage inflicted, and Bivol has youthfulness advantage but has to make adjustments from the last fight to be successful.

Bivol won the first time. No reason to think he won’t be even better against an over 40 Beterbiev, no matter how much they are in denial about him aging.

Beterbiev has no more knees issues

              No health issues

              Is training at maximum intensity

              Isn't holding back anymore

What can Bivol do? Throw more punches? His output dropped because he felt the power and backpedalled.
