As much as I love Ali, like everybody else does, he was 100% wrong for that.

He kind of trafficked in that type of stuff with Liston, too, with the whole "big, ugly bear" stuff.

That's a little less racially tinged, but still suspect.
No doubt, Ali could be an asshole in the buildup to a fight. But to call an advocate of racial equality a racist against his own people is a stretch.

I don't know if you're Black or not, but colorism is a HUGE topic in the Black community.

The whole light-skin/dark-skin thing has been amazingly destructive to our community.

Ali, as great as he was, had a big part in fueling hate against dark-skin Black people. He made it okay to clown Black features.

      That is indeed racist.

It's bad enough to face racism/bigotry from a different ethnicity, but to experience it from your own people is worse and damn shameful.

Been black all my life. And while I've heard Ali denigrate his opponents, I've not heard of him attacking our race, nor fueling light-skinned vs dark-skinned. That goes a lot further back than Ali. The favor of light over dark would be originated and fueled by white slave owners making babies with African slave women. Their offspring were obviously treated better than the offspring of African parents.

Teo’s always been nutty and it’s obvious he’s trying to be edgy, but in reality he’s just looking immature and petty. That said, the article and all these comments seem like a big overreaction.

How is calling a dark-skinned Black man a "gorilla" not "attacking our race"???

                    It's a holdover from slavery.

Light-skinned slav3s were treated better & considered better, smarter, & better-looking than dark-skinned slav3s, so it got built into the community.

                    It's so r3tarded.

When was it officially confirmed that it was Teo that sent it? Wasn't there a video camera they had of who dropped it off and they weren't sure but it may have been from the dude's camp that Davis was fighting?
