there's a place and time for everything... like i said, you cant fight them all!! so is it a duck because "this fighter didnt fight that fighter"? you have to look at his overall resume. he put the work in early to get to the position where he is at now. you dont get there by "ducking".. come on man!! i know fans are mad at canelo because canelo wont fight their fav fighter but that's not consider ducking.

I don't know if looking at Canelo's overall resume, really looking at it, helps out in this argument. He made his name picking off past their prime legends who were 35 or older. Took a belt at MW, but when it came time to defend that belt against the other top MW....he marinated him until he was over the hill as well. Truth is, if you look at his overall resume, then get rid of guys who were over 35, who is his best win? Plant? Jacobs? And its not as if he was avoided, or some boogey man. He was the one in control and making this happen.

Now, combine that with what he has done with Benavidez thus far, that does not add up well for 'overall resume.' Which is a shame, because I think Canelo is a great fighter; I'd bet on him to beat Benavidez if they fought right now. Just that his resume, when you take into account age of opponents, isnt as great as it seems on the surface.

Nobody else does it, because few have the opportunity. Canelo had GBP promoting him and he was the cash cow. He had the best promotion and group behind him. They did a masterful job managing his career, and if thats the criteria you want to use to evaluate (career management) then he is an ATG. But most simply dont have that opportunity. That being written, all those names you claimed were worth mentioning, save for Bivol, were 35 or older when he fought them; thats the point.

My favorite fighter right now is Bam Rodriguez, he lucked his way into his first big fight, but a lot of people have accused him of doing the same. Difference is, he is still young and can go on and fight big names while in their prime. If he ends up marinating them, then unfortunately he will deserve the same criticism
