mosley? come on now he was 0-3-1 in his 4 fights before canelo, unranked at 154, was 40 years old, etc...thats not worth mentioning at all. that was the definition of a cherry pick but you can see why guys like canelo do it because people just see the name and think oh thats a legit fight, except it wasnt. it would be like benavidez fighting roy jones jr or something. big name! no...

and no one is saying benavidez has a resume equal to canelo, but he clearly had the best resume of anyone at 168 when canelo ducked him, and now he has the best resume at 175 besides bivol and beterbiev.

accuse canelo of ducking? he ducked and he ducked hard. are you saying he didnt? benavidez was literally #1 in the ring rankings for 4 years and canelo never fought him but he fought guys like yildram, charlo moving up 2 divisions, ryder, scull, etc...he also said he needed 200 million dollars to fight him aka he wont fight him since he knew that wouldnt happen, he also told benavidez to beat plant to get the fight, benavidez beat plant...he didnt fight him. canelo aint telling scull to beat plant now is he? i dont think you can get a clearer case of a duck. well maybe canelo-ggg when canelo dropped the belt, invented his own divisoin to hide from ggg, etc...they are pretty close.

do you really think its so hard to think fighters are scared of other fighters? canelo knew benavidez was too tough for him otherwise he would have fought him. he coudlnt wait for him to turn older like he did with ggg so he simply never fought him. of course this would make him look bad if he simply said im scared but since hes a narassist and its essentially his job to promote himself as some kind of top boxer but the truth is he didnt want to find out if he was the top boxer because people like you give him a pass for fighting a lot of good fights in the past which is another way of saying hes just coasting off his name, its akin to jurassic park 6 or whatever coming out, its going to suck but they can make money off of it cause some of the other ones were good, canelo is doing the same thing but in boxing.

He did, and has. Maybe pay attention next time. He said if Canelo won't fight him, he'll just prove he's better by beating Bivol himself, and Beterbiev as well. And nothing will guarantee him a fight with Canelo, especially not beating the guy who beat Canelo.

Of course he wants the payday. Most of the fighters around that weight want the payday. But he's made it pretty clear by taking on the fights he needed to at 175 to get set for fighting the champ at 175 that he's not going to wait around for that payday. And who's Crawford fighting while he waits for his payday? Oh yeah, nobody.

The fact that you don't understand that fighting two ranked opponents to get two mandatory shots at an opponent, after having earned a mandatory shot and waited for 3 years while the champ ducked you to fight less deserving competition is fundamentally different in every way from barely beating a guy in your debut at 154 and then sitting out for a year and letting your requested title shot lapse while holding up the division says EVERYTHING. Don't get me wrong, I'll be rooting for Crawford to pull out a miracle come September. But facts are that one of those fighters has been fighting for his shot at whatever belts he can get, and the other has barely been fighting at all and squandering his momentum.

When I say 'Nobody does it today...' it was referring to your post about why dont others follow Canelos path of building their names fighting post prime legends. I believe you recognize that.

So, my point is still valid. Most fighters dont have the opportunity to fight so many aged HOFers and build their names doing so. Canelo benefitted from GBP building him up and getting him big name fights against old fighters. He continued the trend with GGG and Kovalev once he was already a big name.

There can only be so many faces of boxing, so doing this is not available to most fighters.

Like I wrote, Canelo is a great fighter. But the names on his resume inflate what many think about him, if they dont take into account when they fought.

Why do you think Benny moved to 175? To fight guys like Charlo, Munguia or Berlanga or Scull?

Benny wasn’t going to waste his career waiting for a guy that’s afraid to fight him that’s why he moved up to 175. He fought Morrel who also moved up because Canelo was afraid to fight him too.

Benny is set to fight the winner of Bivol -Beterbiev. This is something you know so when you ask why he doesn’t call out Bivol, you are just shifting goal posts.

Just so we are clear, I am a Canelo fan but also a boxing fan first and a duck is a duck. There is no shame in Canelo admitting he is afraid of Benny. He will still go down as an ATG.

its a strange sport that inspires zealots to make so many excuses for their Hero yet canelo is only a self annointed king and the reason is simply he has so many fans and thats it, this goes to their heads and they develop into the typical a sider guy who just like to dictate and dictate to all opponents or potential opponents and gets away with it as well and the really weird thing is all these defenders of his have b een giving out about other guys who do much less than their hero LOL they just cant even see it
