Turki could have just combined the 4 fight pay days into one so Canelo could face Benavidez. After all, Canelo was pretty adamant he’s not fighting Benny for less than $200 million.
Now we’re going to see Canelo fighting Mayorga after Scull and then Connor Benn and then maybe Crawford or Sergio Martinez who is looking for a comeback fight at 46. All for 168 Ibs supremacy.

Ruining Turki's reputation??? Freaking Turki is the one begging Ritchie Cunningham to be a part of Riyadh, not the other way around. Why in the world did Turki sign Ritchie to a 4 fight deal??? And if Ritchie was gonna be making between $90 to 120 million to fight Jake, it's safe to assume that Turki guaranteed Ritchie $250 million for the 4 fight deal.

If anybody is ruining Turki's reputation, it's Turki himself... Turki just helped Ritchie make millions and millions at the expense of Boxing....

Look at Turki's track record, he's not in the business of making chit fights (with the exception of Scull of course) The Saudi modus operandi is to stage massive fights which promoters wouldn't be able to do without the financial input. He will at some point attempt to make Canelo fight a live dog. I know Turki has invited Benavidez and his father to Saudi on Feb 22nd so hopefully there'll be preliminary discussions for the fight next year.

Turki aint begging Canelo for nothing and doesn't need him for anything other than being in big fights. Scull is necessary, Bud is a huge fight, an Mbilli type fight would probably be acceptable and then Canelo will more or less be forced to be involved in a HUGE fight before the deal ends, If Canelo maintains his strong desire to continue fighting bums while avoiding anyone who posses him a threat then he'll see this deal going left pretty quickly just as has his deal with DAZN fell apart when they pressured him to take the GGG trilogy which he didn't want to as he was tactically aging him out again.

Scull threw 330 punches in his last fight and landed 80. What do you think he will do against Canelo, and what on earth makes you think it will be an exciting fight? This will be a stinker.

The number of punches thrown and landed doesn't strictly determine if a fight is good or bad. That's not the usual criteria I'd use anyway. Sure sometimes low punch output can highlight an exceptionally boring fight, like Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury, but it's not always the case. Scull has a good all round skill set, and his last opponent was luckily a pretty decent choice as a tune up before Canelo. Just by chance for Scull but should be good prep as a gradual step up.

Shishkin was undefeated, a decent puncher with a good jab, constantly feinting, pressure fighter. Scull fought wise, mindful of defense, utilizing good punch selection. Canelo is a another level though, and he should be able to get Scull into situations that Shishkin couldn't. It'll probably start off cagey and tactical but could develop into an exciting fight with both fighters exchanging. And for Canelo, Scull is actually a good choice of opponent as a tune up for the Crawford fight, instead of a plodder like John Ryder for example.
