I hope he retires. He is so overrated and protected.

What Canelo has done over the last 10 years, because p4p is about CURRENT ability not 10 years ago. You are exactly what's wrong with boxing, along with Canelo.
By this criteria and all others in this forum who are clearly looking at this through an anti-Canelo lens, the P4P list would essentially be non-existent. Yes, one of the criteria of making the P4P list should be viable opponents, but not every single fight will qualify as "fighting the best". Given the landscape in boxing, you can make make a strong case that Canelo in fact is one of perhaps only 3 - 5 fighters that would remain on the list if the most significant component of making the P4P list was quality opponents. Punches in bunches gentlemen!!

He has a solid resume and it's a long one. Arguably he's still an elite fighter and as the most popular athlete in the sport, whatever he earns, he deserves. But since being dominated by Bivol, his performances have consistently failed to engage viewers seeking compelling matchups. So only his ardent followers would now consider him as #1 p4p. I have no problem with his cherry picking for the best pay. Other boxers do it all the time. e.g. Tank Davis. But let's not insult fans of the sport by declaring yourself the best if your MO going forward is to ignore the best challengers in your weight division, just because the sanctioning bodies (aside from IBF) don't have the backbone to enforce their mandos in order to pocket their belt fees. Weak sauce.

              IBF is not any better
No need to look any further than yesterday’s fight : Chisora vs Wallin eliminator for the top spot
If that isn’t a ridiculously ignorant move by them , I don’t know what is

Canelo Alvarez, once considered the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, has seen his dominance begin to fade. While his achievements are undeniable—holding multiple world championships in various weight classes—recent performances, particularly his losses and lack of clear victories over top-tier opponents, have led some to question his standing.

Canelo forfeited any claim to being on the list when he ducked benavidez for years. He also forfeited any respect anyone would have given him but then again this is the same mofo that uses peds and ducked ggg by inventing his own divison so we should have known. He couldn't prove he was best in his division how can you rate him? Past accomplishments? Artificially extending your career is disrespectful to boxing but narcissists only care about image and he wants to stay on top but he knows the top guys end him. Coward
