Did anyone notice how Benavidez is now back-pedaling regarding fighting Beterviev and didn’t mention his name at all? Turns out there is a connection now: Hot Rod Kalajdzic. Morrell hurt and dropped Benavidez, which is considerably more damage than what he was able to do vs Kalajdzic, an opponent Beterviev brutally stopped in the fifth round. If Beterbiev wins the Bivol rematch then this fall vs Benavidez should be the fight. if Bivol wins then it definitely needs to be a trilogy. The question is should Benavidez take a stay busy fight while waiting for the trilogy to clear up?
