        Recall a great piece he did in 90s for NY Daily News about the late 60s/early 70s hype job Spanish HW Urtain. RIP Sir

            He was one of those writers you did not even know how many of his pieces you read until you really thought about it. He was always good for a unique perspective.

              He is among the last generation of newspaper beat reporters on boxing as the sport has declined in the US to a niche sport less a super fight on US soil.

              I also remember Katz seemingly at ringside with a neck brace and he visually reminded me of Bobby Heenan at ringside with a similar "injury", sad news...
