How much did his opponents hydrate? Andrade was 190 in the ring vs him according to his team. How much do you think Canelo is in the ring. He was 174 in the ring when he was at 154 at 23 years of age..

Not really. He’s was knocked down by that Romanian geezer but he didn’t appear to be hurt.

      He’s durable for sure

He’s also surprisingly hard to hit clean

He outweighed Gavril and Dirrell by 20+ lbs from the reports I saw. Those were the guys he won his titles against that you thought were the same size. It's pretty obvious if you look at them. That's why back size is a better indicator of size in the ring than height.

Canelo Alvarez's last fight against Edgar Berlanga, was a higher level fight than David Morrell vs David Benavidez 'I actually think many people would back Berlanga to beat Morrell and? Berlanga vs Benavidez would be a live fight'.

David Benavidez really should be fighting a higher level of competition 'If he is the most dangerous fighter on the planet i.e. That seems to be the perception and aura he is trying to project in the game'.

Regardless? David Morrell looks like a solid and strong fighter in terms of brute strength 'The key for Morrell in this fight, is for him to be able to withstand the attacks of Benavidez. That sounds like a really straight forward game plan, and that is because? In my opinion, skill for skill it is not going to take a sophisticated higher level fight in order to potentially beat David Benavidez'.

Once David Benavidez faces a opponent who is on par with him in terms of brute strength, and skill for skill is a fundamentally solid fighter 'At 175 pounds, there is a possibility that you will see more and more of his fights going the distance. Winning rounds will require an extreme effort for Benavidez, and he will have to be operating in his higher gears for most of the duration in the fight'.

Truly Elite level fighter's skill for skill, if you observe their fights 'Always look to fight in a very efficient manner. And I believe this is called pace management, fighters like Floyd Mayweather, Terrence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez and most top level boxers all have this ability to varying degrees'.

Note: David Benavidez is a World level fighter 'But he has reached this point, by relying on being the big man on fight night within the 168 pound weight division. The ball game in the 175 weight division, is going to put more pressure on David Benavidez's pure boxing skills. Because the fighters he is now competing against have a higher level of brute strength'.

This dynamic has already been displayed during David Benavidez's last fight vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk 'Benavidez was throwing combinations and launching numerous ballistic attacks. Showing a solid work rate, and he was landing with power punches.. Oleksandr Gvozdyk who has been stopped by Arthur Beterbiev, was able to withstand Benavidez's brute strength and power. And that factor did keep him in the fight, and saw him put in a solid effort over 12 rounds'.

To conclude: So, maybe? In this fight we could see David Morrell really attack David Benavidez intensely in the opening rounds 'Just to get a measurement, and gauge on how he reacts to his power and brute strength. And to imprint a tone in the fight'.

I would not rate David Morrell as a monster power puncher, and skill for skill I have not detected any elite level ability 'But he does appear to be a solid fighter all round, and the levels of his abilities are unknown'.

Overall, this fight is not a higher level fight than Edgar Berlanga vs Canelo Alvarez 'And that was the main point I was trying to make in this thread. I actually think Edgar Berlanga vs David Benavidez would be a great event, and maybe that fight could happen at 175 pounds. I believe Berlanga has stated that eventually he does intend to compete in the Light Heavyweight Divisions' etc.

My God, you don't know $h1t about boxing. Truth be told I stopped reading at "fight against Edgar Berlanga, was a higher level fight than David Morrell vs David Benavidez 'I actually think many people would back Berlanga to beat Morrell and? Berlanga vs Benavidez would be a live fight" Maybe was only the introduction. God bless you.

Easier to do when you're fighting 2nd tier and domestic level fighters.
