Still disagree with Bread on Cotto over Martinez being a good win. Martinez was close to being shot after the Chavez Jr. and Murray fights – he left everything of himself in the ring on those occasions.

A lot of fans and media were saying that even Martinez at just 50% would knock Cotto out. Cotto was also the underdog.

People only talk about the win being bad in hindsight. Before the fight, everyone and their mother’s were happily and arrogantly predicting Martinez winning by KO.

Cotto over Martinez is like Tony Bellew over David Haye.

Bread has been smoking that Chiat lately. He is so biased for anything Bud Crawford it spills out into everything. Nobody cares about Dr. J on boxing scene. I’d rather have a discussion on the pro box tv fights

Floyd Mayweather is not in the top 20 ATG? Seriously? I think he is in the top 10 easily based on his achievements and his resume and has a very good argument for even being No1. I have to declare my hand - I never liked Floyd. I was always hoping somebody would clip him and KO him or at least beat him. But, it never happened even though he fought literally who is who across multiple weight divisions. So I have to give him props and rate him at least top 10 ATG. I cannot rate fighters from history above him just because I never watched them fight live. Virtually all of them have lost a fight or three. Yes, Floyd had a few close calls, the fights I though he lost, BUT he didn't.

Absolutely. It was a great result on paper. In reality, Sergio had a seriously screwed leg and was vulnerable to any fighter in the top 20.

Yes, but what actually transpires in the ring is essential. It was a great result for Cotto but obvious as early as the first round that Martinez’ damaged leg seriously impaired his performance. He was a stoppage victim waiting to happen against any decent fighter that night.
