I don't think Taylor is necessarily "well-schooled" but I agree that Abraham even with his rather economical style will be difficult to outpoint for anybody.

I agree with jreckoning also, I've always felt that Taylor has one of the worst right hands in the sport. He throws it like a pitcher throws a baseball...

He takes rounds off though which may cost him later.

This tourney is him or Kessler's for the taking.
Kessler vs. AA in the final would be a sick fight.

Taylor has a fine jab (credit to AA for neutralizing it). He moves very well and have some good defensive maneuvers. And that right hand is still hard enough to put down Froch.

AA will be the most feared man in the tourney after this. Not only do you have to worry about that sick power, but you'll also have to work hard to outpoint him.

disagreed. Taylor was throwing plenty early on .. and much of the board going crazy about Abe doing so little

but notice as the fight progressed how that strong jab of Taylor's got weaker and used less and less round after round

I just see so many flaws in Taylor's game, and not only his stamina, that it's difficult for me to consider him well-schooled. He gets away with a lot due to sheer talent.

The right hand has power no doubt if it lands but it's not very effective.

I've always considered Abraham one of the best punchers in the sport. Sure he has only been knocking over European opposition in the past but it's the way he knocks people out that makes me think he has brutal power. It cannot be disputed any longer after this performance, surely.

And some of the "European" opponents Abraham fought were world class at middleweight (which is a rather weak division but still). See his KO of Khoren Gevor for example.

Kesslers statement after the fight, not mine.

One win in his last five outings, three brutal knockouts at only 31 years of age,Taylor should seriously consider his future.

I'll download and watch this tomorrow with the froch-dirrell fight but I don't expect to be impressed with Abraham,I never have been and unless he showed tremendous improvements in his workrate then I never will be.

Why is it not effective? It was effective enough to break through Winky Wrights guard,it was effective enough to hurt Kelly Pavlik which eventually lead to him dropping Pavlik.
