this should be a very close fight, i wouldnt rule out either fighter, i mean you can argue that morrell is better than plant, and plant did take 5 rounds from benavidez imho... hope is enterteining and not a chess match...

Plant is more proven/skilled than Morrell imo. Morrell is Berlanga 2.0

Maybe he will, maybe he won't, we'll see on February 1st.

I will say the "more power" proclamation is arguable at best. Benny is not a power puncher; he's a volume puncher, whereas Morrell has put a man into a coma.

Also, Morrell has a near four-inch reach advantage. Were you aware of that?

I have no idea how why anyone is picking Morrell.
They are about the same height and Morrell has 4 more inches in reach. Morrell has more power. Higher ring IQ can be argued.

I pick Morrell because I know he's going to win.

More power? When was the last time Benavidez got a one punch KO on an undefeated contender? Oh yeah, he's never done that. He gets TKO finishes. He's at a reach disadvantage too. I'm glad people are sleeping on Morrell though. Makes the odds way better.

How much are you putting down on Morrell, if I may ask?

If I gambled, I'd take the odds on him. PICK 'EM is as far as I can afford.

I don't really like gam-bling, TBH. Seen too many lives get ruined and friendships ruined over it. So you're making the right choice. Pick Em is a great place to find out how accurate your vision can be. If you are going to gamble, pick an amount you can afford to lose, and expect to do so, and consider it in the vein of paying for an experience, IMO. There's others on here who are far more experienced than I in the gamb-ling realm if you want to get into it. My primary involvement in the fight game has been in the ring and the gym, not gam-bling.

I think Morrell has all the tools he needs to beat Benavidez and shock the world, but that doesn't mean he will. I didn't like how content he was to stay at a low activity level vs Hot Rod, although Hot Rod fights very differently from Benavidez. And his chin hasn't really been tested. Plus, Benavidez has earned a good measure of my respect for his more recent wins, especially vs Plant, and to a lesser extent, Andrade, who I thought gave him good business until he got broken down. Morrell has a lot more physical advantages compared to Andrade. I think highly of his skills and ring IQ, so if Benavidez beats him and they're both healthy and fight a good fight, I'm prepared to acknowledge his monster status. But I'll be picking Morrell by mid KO or close decision, personally, especially at underdog odds.

Geez, AI, I can't even use the word to describe putting money on boxing?

Haha “Berlanga 2.0” Actually LOLed on that one. Morrell is nothing like Berlanga; he actually knows how to box.

Lol Very frustrating, in more ways than one. I’ve seen words edited that aren’t offensive in any way, then I realize that inside the spelling of the word there’s a potential curse word. It’s pathetic that we’ve reached this point in our society, where anything remotely offensive is immediately blotted out — regardless of intent.

Agreed. I'm about as socially ******* as they come (financially conservative); it's all a bunch of hogwash either way you go.
