The jab will neutralize the speed".
Vernon was a bad man. I would've loved to see the following fights. FORREST vs.Floyd, Forrest vs. DeLaHoya, Forrrst vs.Trinidad

Yeah, he was, he had a nice jab and those would have been great matches too. I couldn't believe Mayorga KOd him in the 3rd. That was the first time I had seen Mayorga fight, had heard of him but had never seen him fight before. Mayorga was telling all who would listen that he was gonna KO Vernon in the 4th round, but I didn't believe someone who had just beat Mosley twice would lose to a wild swinging brawler.

That version of Mayorga was so strong and awkward and he was young. That was a dangerous human, at that point in his life, he was full of energy and confidence and would have ko'd a whole lot of dudes. Styles make fght. Its not often you would face someone with Mayorga's style so he wasn't easy to prepare for

He was dangerous because of his heavy punch and solid chin, but lacked fundamentals, was a cigarette smoker didn't know how to throw a jab. I don't believe he beat anyone elite after fighting Vernon. He lost his next fight against Cory Spinks and I believe Trinidad after. Styles definitely make fights but Vernon shouldn't have lost twice to Mayorga in my opinion. I lost money on that fight and couldn't believe what I was seeing...

One step forward, two steps back.

              Lopez has squandered his career.
