Why did HBO and Showtime leave boxing?

Reports also say ESPN is exiting. What do you think is the main reason?

I left out the other networks to keep it simple.

    $$$$$$$$$$$

The risk doesn’t reap the reward
And yes ESPN is exiting boxing
So all majors networks in North America are done with boxing unless you consider Pea**** ( NBC ) still showing small shows on its network

Probably because of inactive greedy fighters. Promoters barely break even, they even lose money, and they still have regular employees to take care of.
"I'm risking my life doe." GTFOH. As if everyone is forcing them to be in this profession. Hey, look for regular jobs mtrfkrs just like billions of people survive on this earth doing something else. Soldiers, police, firefighters, garbage collectors are risking their lives too yet have zero potential of earning millions. Zero.

Civilians in war-torn areas are risking their lives too with no fault of their own. They lose their homes, loved ones, their lives, everything.

Meaning, they have no choice unlike a greedy fighter moaning about risking his life in a sport he can get out of anytime he wants to.
