Amazon Prime is a great platform but I don't think they were planning to significantly back the fights from a financial perspective (venue, purses, etc) for PBC. From what I understand, it was primarily going to be a PPV platform for PBC stars with the occasional free card.
Rick Glaser intimated that Amazon Prime was getting cold feet with their PBC partnership due to PBC's lack of financial backing. Glaser suggested Amazon may want boxing content provided from a different promotional company (perhaps Top Rank?).
I don't say any of this with bias against PBC, I would like to see them do well (as I would like every promotion do well), I want more live boxing content accessible to fans. I just have doubts and concerns about this particular relationship.
As for Paul/Tyson, that was a circus event for Netflix (similar to the Chestnut vs Kobayashi hot dog eating contest they aired live). I'm not sure traditional boxing will bring in the numbers or the buzz like that.
