By your logic , Did Ortiz duck Zayas? Offer was made, accepted and the Ortiz disappeared.
Ortiz is going to fight Madrimov instead which is a much tougher fight than Zayas.

Who is Boots going to fight? All the beltholders are on the other side of the street and his promoter will have to overpay to MAYBE get one of them as an opponent. When Boots could instead be cashing a fat Turki paycheck if he only had the balls to face Ortiz.

This is such a duck. That is all that matters to boxing fans, they don’t care what levels of that there are.

None of us knows what goes on behind closed doors. Too many rumors. Also, Boots said he wants to unify with other champions because he doesn't like the "email" moniker and wants to beat another champion. And it isn't easy to give up a belt you've been trying to get for most of your life. Let's see what happens in the next 12 months.

        Just sayin’
It was reported that the initial offer he was given was for Ortiz to fight him at 147.

            1. Madrimov being a tougher fight is your opinion and not based on fact. Zayas is younger, faster, bigger, taller and has a longer reach than madrimov.
            2. You don’t know who boots is fighting next so again, you’re going on assumptions. Overall, Do you know many boxers who pass on unifications to leave a weight class to fight a 0 time champion?
            3. There are levels to ducks and NONE are greater than your idol Canelo. He has 0 logic to avoiding Benavidez other than not wanting to take an ass whooping. I’d prefer Boots face Ortiz as a boxing fan but understand that unifying has and always will be a major priority for boxers. Not to mention, it isn’t boots fault that Ortiz can’t make 147 anymore because he damn near died trying to be a weight bully.

              1. Madrimov just gave top 3 P4P Terence Crawford a very tough fight. What has Zayas done, ever?
              2. I know that Boots is not fighting Vergil Ortiz next, despite Ortiz signing a contract to do so. If Boots fights a less difficult opponent than Ortiz for less money then that is a mega duck.
              3. Canelo has one of the best resumes in the sport. If he now chooses to swerve guys here and there we at least still know what he can do and where he stands in the boxing world. Boots is going to be 28 yet hasn’t accomplished anything by comparison besides being an e-mail champ. Yet he’s turning down legacy fights and big Saudi paydays.

                1. Doesn’t matter what madrimov did in a losing effort. He lost and your opinion is just that, an opinion with no real substance.
                2. Yea, boots is not abandoning his weight class where he has a title to move up and fight a contender who arguably deserved to lose his last fight. Nobody really does that.
                3. Fook Canelo’s overrated resume. He’s being a duck and all I see is you justifying him acting like a massive puss. And that’s the whole point. You’re a hypocrite and complaining about a scenario that isn’t really a duck since they’re not in the same weight class while defending a blatant duck that wreaks of cowardice is why your opinion can’t be taken seriously. Canelo fans always expose themselves to be hypocritical groupies. Well done.

Of course I wouldn't. It doesn't mean it didn't get presented that way at first.

Anytime someone brings up Evander Holyfield in the Mailbag they should include that he needs an asterisk next to his record. Because of the PEDs. Just like Bread likes to say about Canelo and his positive test.
                    That's a ridiculous comparison.

I'm critical of Canelo for the same reason I'm critical of Mayweather & Tank, because as the cash cow fighters of the sport, they can fight whoever they want, when they want, so if fights don't happen 9/10 times it's their fault.

Boots just became champion in his division & none of the guys who were/are names in his division wanted to fight him including Crawford (post-Spence), Spence (at any time), Thurman, or Ortiz (when he was at 147).

So, Boots says, "cool, I'll just unify at 147".

Now, y'all got him ducking people who aren't even in the same division as him.

While Usyk is great, I'm unsure of his greatness.
He hasnt had that many fights & how good was this generation of heavyweights?
Aj never faced a prime elite heavyweight until Usyk, Fury only beat Wilder & who has Wilder ever beaten? Far to many shot 38-41 year olds & cans on they're resumes.

In general until Usyk we've been let down by those 3s politics & holding belts hostage with contracts, even avoiding fights due to sponsors that demand Aside status in they're deals.
