I can't argue with this as upset of the year. Yes, the majority of NSB realized he had been carefully navigated in his career but not a person here proclaimed Surace was going to beat him (unlike some of the other upset candidates). Surace was the sacrificial lamb being fed to Munguia and his hometown fans.

The Frenchman was picked because he didn't appear to have the power to change the course of the fight with one punch. The manner in which he beat Munguia also factors into the magnitude of the upset. Jaime went 12 rounds with Canelo but folded under Bruno's fists....

Obviously Munguia had a different strategy for Nelo and fought him accordingly.

Don't anticipate a duplicate ending in the rematch.

Surace just placed himself in the lead for Canelo's next opponent.

Says the dude who could tell me Canelo's shoe size but has no clue who Curtis Stevens is. Struck a nerve I see. Some love boxing, others love the gaudy records. The guy with the Yankees/Lakers/Chiefs/Man City jersey on... keep chasing the greatness (in others).

For the record, I wasn't criticizing Alvarez (or "Nelo" for you). I was explaining the optics for why Surace gets the upset of the year.

Man you are softer than butter.
