Except that Munguia (to me) was never really up as you say. He was more hype than anything else in my humble opinion.

He got that big bag of money fighting the red one
Could see the red one willing to face him again
The fact he got a fight with Canelo is up enough for me
        Just sayin’

Doesn't matter if he was up in the technical sense or not (he wasn't). All that matters in this scenario was his name.

            It was a high-profile scalping.

Honestly, Mungia was never that good, he avoided everyone in their prime and only looked spectacular matched with older, smaller name fighter.

GoldenBoy manufactured both O'Sullivan and Mungia as stock-feed...beatable caricatures for Canelo to feast on. My only surprise was that Mungia got exposed by such limited opposition in such devastating fashion.

Mongo is a face fighter and Surace hit him with the straw that broke the camels back. I wouldn't make much of the power based on this, but he can fight.

How the hell is this the upset of the year. They are the same basic fighter with one having a better night. Munguia had clenelo on his resume is the only difference
