Ricky Hatton Believes Khan Overcame The Odds

Ricky Hatton is picking Amir Khan to overcome the challenge of New York-based Ukrainian Dmitriy Salita on December the 5th. Hatton believes that the 22-year-old WBA light-welterweight title holder is fast becoming a rounded boxer-puncher. Ricky told The Bolton News that Amir responded well to adversity after Bredis Prescott ripped his world apart in September of last year. [details]

amir khan, was a very good amateur boxer.... his style of boxing suited the rules in the amateur ranks, incredible handspeed, lightning footwork.... they do 5 rounds of 2 minutes per round.

....and being protected by a headgear.

he turned pro, became an instant hit in UK mainly because of his silver medal....

the only problem in pro boxing is you haven't got the headgear anymore and thye fight 12 rounds, 3minutes for each round.

amir khan will be fine fighting B rate fighters, and he will always shine in that level, because they tend to be less skillful, less talented, and they tend to be a lot slower.
But as soon as he steps in for a fight against any A level fighter in his division, that is where his whole world will fold and crash again---i don't need to elaborate on this one, it is self explanatory especially to you guys who have seen the prescott fight

Sad to say He together with ricky hatton are both products of british boxing hype machinery----- everyone in that system / machinery will make a fighter believe of something they're not, they will pump they're guys with confidence boosting thoughts and in which, in the end causes them to have DELUSION OF GRANDEUR.

HATTON AND KHAN--- two of the most popular boxers from uk, finished B-rate products of the great hype boxing mill in uk.

I doubt that. Hatton's only losses came from P4P kings no less. IMO, he is an overachiever. Just think of how many champions he defeated with his technique.

Khan is young... give him time. He took his loss like a man and continued to improve. Only real issue with him is his chin. But that also improved when he moved up in weight. Prescott ... only advantage is his power. Other than that ... nada. IMO, if they meet again, I would bet on Khan to UD or Late KO Prescott.

What an un beleive ably **** thread !!!!!!!

Ok Ricky Hatton - 5 time world champion , Ring magazine fighter of the year , Linear 140 lb champion , and has a WW strap under his belt too .

              Yeah pretty ****ty resume .

Ok Khan , predominantly i agree Khan is better suited to an Ama boxing style but like Hatton says he is becoming more well rounded , and the jump to 140 seems like a master stroke in protecting that chin !!!!!! .

Khan's problem is this , the media , he was thrust into the media lime light too young with too much on his shoulders , that is where the hate comes from , Khan is now the WBA 140 lb champ , and we have known who he is for years and have watched his every move , well really we should of only known him for fighting Barrera !!!!!!! im talking on a world level audience

Your right Khan has not faced A level opponents yet , but he did make a good fighter in Kotelnik look pretty bad in his last fight , and has the potential to be a superstar , the Prescott defeat was the best thing that could of happened to him , and remember this he is still a 22 year old kid !!!!!!

I seem to remember another tall Jr WW called Tommy Hearns being a great fighter but having no chin and look on how he turned out !!!!!

Comparing Amir Khan to Thomas Hearns is sacrilege.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

first, u lambasted the thread being ****ty.... or did u mean what i said was ****ty? either way i would'nt mind anyway.

after you said that, you agreed on most of the things i said other than you pointing out hatton's achievements.

rebuttal, i did'nt say hatton did not achieve those you just mentioned, what i said was hatton is a very good b-rate fighter, and that's a fact.

conclusion: hatton supporting khan= b-rate supporting b-rate. is that clear enough?
