It is kind of like American Idol winners never following that win with anything substantial afterwards.Comment

Legit or not, Ramirez will have a tough time bouncing back from this. Duran took years before anyone saw past the "No Mas" incident, and how long did it take DuBois taking a knee against Joyce to be offset by wins in the ring?
Espinoza will also get very little bump for the win. He will have to listen to the "Ramirez quit" narrative, not that he MADE him quit.Comment

Ramirez is old for a little guy. This was kinda do-or-die for him.
Don't see anyone investing in building him back up. Only option now is to really try to stay in shape, and hope to upset someone looking to use him for an easy W.Comment

I didnt read all the comments yet, but the left elbow was early in the 5th. I saw when it happened, before they ever mentioned it. Right after that you saw a whitish welt/scratch above Ramirez right eye for the rest of the round.
I cant say that gave him double or not, but the elbow happened.

Then saw the same thing online where people were arguing that it was an elbow when in fact the replay showed it definitely wasn’t and at most a scraping of the forearmComment

I thought it was low class to judge Ramirez quitting as he did without knowing the facts. How dumb was Kriegel citing the courage of the great Israel Vazquez in this context? Did he forget how the first Marquez/Vazquez fight ended? Was that a permanent black mark on Vazquez?Comment
