Another Nyquil type fighter. If I never see Hitchins fight again it will be too soon. Not that Paro is much more exciting. This fight was a dud. The only good thing about this fight is that Hichins won't hold on to the belt long ,Paro wasn't going to either. The judges tried to screw Hitchins but it would have been too obvious. He clearly won every round after the fourth

Styles make fights and with so many styles at 140, I can see a round robin of title changes over the next couple years with a lot of talent, but not seeing a superstar emerging yet...that is a fighter that stands out as potential king of the division to rule for some time. Too deep of a division to know at this time.

Paro had the style to neutralise Matias but could not deal with Hitchins's straight right hand once he made the adjustment in the fifth round and became more aggressive (started throwing it). I really thought that Paro would make an adjustment after that, but he seemed to be just trying the same thing over and over again not figuring out how to close the distance. He seemed discouraged by that right hand.

I cannot see Hitchins staying a champion for too long either. Matias probably smokes him as he would not be bothered by that right hand from coming in. Hitchins does not look really special, but as you said there is no superstar emerging on the horizon. Titles will probably keep changing hands for a while.

I was going to say that at least now we don’t have to be force fed Paro vs Kambosos in Australia.

But maybe this loss actually makes it more likely that we see that next?

Yes I think it would be a good comeback fight for both fighter's although it would've been MUCH more meaningful with a belt on the line.

No doubt Eddie paid off at least one judge in order to make this happen!

With Puello, Russell, Teo, Haney, Caterrall, Barboza, Matias, Sandor Martin, Rivera, Delgado, Elvis, Duarte, Simms, and others, could be a fun ride coming up. Right now Teo leads but Caterall and Simms and Puello may be able to make a solid mark for the near future if I have to pick since each has had wins over some others on the list.

One thing I didnt like is hitchins barely went to the body. No stab jabs to the stomach, straight rights to the chest, left hooks to the body …nada

Just from a physical stand point alone; This would not be a good style match up for Teo. Sure he wound be the easy favorite to win but I can see him struggling as well.

Hitchens is a pure boxer. He would use his physical advantages of both height and reach in order to neutralize Lopez. He would box him from the outside.

Does anyone believe that his ducking of Devin Haney for several years was just by mere coincidence? The Teo is a small 140lber who has lost both his snap and pop on his punches.
