    Why is Shakur Stevenson avoided?

I've seen many interviews of fighters in the top 10 who avoid wanting to fight Shakur Stevenson. Is it because he isn't an exciting fighter who would not generate a lot of PPV attraction, or is it because he's an excellent technical boxer? The answer is likely both. Not out of fear or anything, they are fighters, they would fight anyone as long the price is right and all parties are satisfied.

I'm not even a Shakur Stevenson fan. Honestly; I think he is boring, but I'm not going to beat around the bush and deny his boxing skills and IQ, he does have some talent in that department.

Why do you think many avoid wanting to fight him?

You hit the nail on the head...he's an excellent technical boxer who's very difficult to beat (like Mayweather) but unlike Floyd he has zero PPV appeal which makes it a very risky fight not worth taking.

Hat's off to Schofield for stepping up to the plate (especially aged 22)!

The guy ducked hankey zepeda and stank. Nobody is avoiding he just wants to cash out. Why you think he's with Hearn and kissing turkis ass?

All honesty he shoulda lost to Edwin

His boring style doesn’t really entice other fighters
The probability of having to chase him is not appealing either
Hr is skilled and sound boxer but just makes for a very boring defensive style

everybody would look bad against shakur, win or lose, and they wouldn't get a lot of money (in american eyes). those are the only reasons why they fight anybody now. shakur, zepeda and tank should fight each other and lomachenko and berinchik should retire next year. other lightweights don't duck shakur but they are irrelevant for money and legacy.

Schofield has the right attitude, hope these younger boxers follow suit!

100%...Tank's 30yo and STILL hasn't fought Shakur whereas Cruz deliberately swerved him and Zepeda seems to be following suit. Meanwhile, Schofield is just 22yo and inexperienced but willing to put his '0' on the line against a heavily avoided fighter and 3 division world champion.

Like I said before, hat's off to the kid and I'll definitely be rooting for him plus he has a fan-friendly style.
