The boxing HOF is obviously for anyone that had any kind of name recognition. I think we, as fans, would be better off recognizing that fact. If we hold Canastota up to the standards of Cooperstown, it all crumbles into a sad joke.

Since the crowds at these functions and visitors got brisk , HOF has become more like a business
Hence the reason for Paz getting in and attracting some casuals and the boxing fan
Canastota was an attraction but with such small crowds they’ve been pushed to this in a way

So popularity like I said. Vinny was very popular fighter. Just like Gatti and Ward. I am cool with that as long as people don't use the Hall of fame as a measuring stick for talent. Then Butterbean and David Tua should also get in because they both had impacts on pop culture outside the ring and that will bring visitors to the Hall of fame $$$$

Manny Pacquiao doesn’t deserve a spot in the 2025 International Boxing Hall of Fame class because his career is nothing more than a glorified tale of exploitation and opportunism. Stripped of the fanfare, his so-called “greatness” crumbles under scrutiny. He built his reputation not on undeniable skill or legendary bouts but on preying upon washed-up fighters well past their prime, padding his record with meaningless wins that did nothing to elevate the sport.

Well damn!! I wasn't the biggest Manny Pacquaio fan but I dont think I would had said this. I think you stuck the knife a little to deep on this comment.

They let in an actor who played a boxer so it starts there. Also the hall has a North American bias and a size bias as Asian lower weight class fighters with resumes that are very deep have to wait forever to get in but middling champions who were popular with the fans get in relatively quickly like Gatti. Also if Paz is in why not Haugen?

Also Haugen has a win over a future hall of fame member in Camacho near his prime. Paz has nothing like that on his resume...

I agree with you 1000%. You want to start a international fighters hall of fame? We can do boxing, kick boxing and MMA. I might get shot being a voter because I will sht on fighters and I would be none bias and fair. Just having a belt will not get my vote either.

Both if you should be ashamed of yourselves. Starting at 108 and competing at a high level above 147, and beating many ATG in their primes, Manny is an ATG.

• At 135: He fought just once against David Diaz. Period.
• At 140: He fought just once against Hatton. Hatton was never anything special and had already been KO’d by Floyd. There were other title holders at 140 that Top Rank avoided

At 147: This is where PAC’s dubious greatness is measured so let’s get into it:

- Oscar: The last time Oscar fought at 147 was 2002. He was too drained and couldn’t even move. He had no shot at beating PAC and this is Oscar we are talking about.

- Cotto: Catchweight - Freddie Roach was on record stating “I have to give my guy every advantage I can get”. That statement just says it all.

- Clottey: He’d just lost to Cotto so why make this fight?

- Mosley: Mosley had literally just lost to Floyd. Can you imagine if it was Floyd that fought Mosley after Mosley had lost to PAC?

- Brandon Rios: Rios had just lost to Alvarado at 140 and was moving up to 147. Rios should have NEVER been in the same ring with PAC. It was an insult to boxing.

- Broner: Broner had lost two fights and had one draw and yet the great PAC elected to fight him.

- Mathysse: Another irrelevant guy at 147. Had lost his last big fight to Danny Garcia and was trying to rebuild against BUMS.

- Jeff Horn: Nobody knew who this guy was before he faced PAC.

- Chris Algieri: Same question as above.

- Bradley: Bradley’s resume is mostly going to be remembered for the PAC trilogy (and the wars he had with Provodnikov and Jesse Vargas).

- Thurman: Good win for PAC and legit opponent. I can acknowledge that

154: Margarito - He had literally been destroyed by Mosley and yet PAC demanded a catchweight so as to get a dubious VACANT title at 154.

PAC is a manufactured institutional product elevated to stratospheric levels through carefully cherry picked opponents that appear credible on paper yet are far from it and sold to a thirsty media and crowd that gulps every ounce of bum that’s fed to them.

You know what, Jake Paul is also on his way to ATG status cherry-picking washed up fighters.

Announcers, writers, refs, a contribution highly regarded by the sport (iconic fictional character for example).
Can't think of a fictional (based on an actual person) sports character as popular as Rocky.
When you think of an under dog, you think of Rocky B.
