Well, Rayo's new attorney, definitely. Garcia, Rayo's old attorney is gonna lose....

Jose comes from a simple family with no boxing background and was a young kid without a decorated amateur pedigree

No surprise that he didn’t have the best representation and signed into a raw deal

Jose has done well given where he started

Best boxer to come out of his region of the US

Jose’s head was nearly caved in as a kid when he reached under a car to grab a soccer ball

David and Jose used to do their morning roadwork together

the Benavidez took a bet on Jose and it paid off

Jose was their prospect. They saw the potential of Jose and helped put him on

Thanks for the back ground... I would guess that Rayo was told by new trainer Garcia that he has been improperly trained and managed. Benavidez pappy obviously colluded with old attorney, Garcia, in business dealings and those issues have Rayo upset and feeling betrayed or screwed.

Under new trainer Garcia, Rayo has shown the ability to box well and not have to go to war in order to win. The guy put on a clinic against Pit Bull, he should have fought the same way against Colbert and De Los Santos..

I'm not saying that Benavidez Pappy purposely intended to take advantage of Rayo, but Rayo was young, naive and too trusting in my opinion.

Robert is a good trainer for Jose who’s a Mexican with an American temperament

Jose is a huge Floyd fan

As an amateur Jose would chant hard work, dedication and wanted me to say it too lol. While I was quietly skipping rope and minding my own business

Based on how Robert scored Bivol-Artur with Bivol winning on his card, Robert seems to be one of the few Mexicans who appreciate hit & not get hit get on your bike when necessary style

                      Thanks for sharing brother!

Yeah, Robert is a good trainer period! He's honest and a humble man who knows the boxing business in and out. If I'm being honest, after watching Rayo lose against De Los Santos, I didn't believe he had it in him to be champ again, but once I learned that Robert Garcia was his trainer and after watching him easily outbox Pit Bull, I realized that Benavidez senior was a detriment to his career.

It's awesome to hear your stories on Rayo and some background on his life. Thanks again and I appreciate anything else you're willing or compelled to share!
