  • Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn names three potential opponents for Josh Taylor in early 2025

With Matchroom Boxing plotting a busy start to 2025 in the UK alone, with up to five shows being staged on British soil in the first three months of the year, former world junior welterweight king Josh Taylor is expected to be among those in a starring role.

Whatever Josh Taylor had before 2021 is now gone. He has lost his mojo and I suspect it is never coming back. He now has a few more fights left as a gate keeper to prop up his retirement savings but he is no longer a serious contender for anything.

At this stage, bringing up Taylor "slowly" is like breaking-in a 2008 Toyota Corolla with 285 000 clicks.

I think Taylor has 2-3 decent performances in him. But definitely not at 140. They'll likely feed him to Dalton Smith at the end of the year.

Agree. If Josh is going to carry on it should beat 147

Real shame in many ways. Peak Taylor never got the exposure he deserved and as as the case once you get to the top difficult to remain there. Still a big draw in Scotland so makes sense in a way
