Originally posted by PRINCEKOOL View PostThis is actually a difficult fight for Derek Chisora both technically, and physiologically 'Otto Wallin is quite a highly skilled Super Heavyweight fighter, and he has solid durability. And those are the two main attributes, that you need to beat Chisora i.e Skill for skill boxing game, and a solid level of durability combined with endurance'.
Otto Wallin was most likely pulled out of his fight vs Anthony Joshua, a few rounds before he was eventually going to get decked 'But even still, in those 6 round's which the fight lasted? Wallin in my opinion showed a solid level of durability'.
Compared to the Jarrell Miller vs Derek Chisora match up 'I personally think this fight for Chisora, is a by far tougher challenge for him. At any point of Derek Chisora's career, Otto Wallin may have been a slightly tricky fight for Chisora'.
People must understand precisely what I am saying? I would not regard Otto Wallin as a high jeopardy fight for Derek Chisora 'In terms of the brutality of the action. But Derek Chisora throughout his entire career has been marginally susceptible to being out boxed by fighters with solid boxing fundamentals and a solid level of skill'.
When Derek Chisora fought Agit Kabayel 7 years ago 'Chisora had been involved in many more brutal fights, even at that stage of his career. And he had suffered more severe loses, in terms of the physiological damage sustained during those fights. Agit Kabayel won the fight, with a basic straight forward game plan. Kabayel was a good enough boxer skill for skill, and strong enough in terms of brute strength? Not to play Derek Chisora at his own game, and get drawn into a battle of attrition'.
I have stated this many times before in regards to Derek Chisora 'There have really only ever been two fighters, he has fought in his career. Who have been able to meet force with force and cancel out his momentum. And those fighters were firstly David Haye, and then Dillian Whyte'.
Every other fighter who has beaten Derek Chisora during his career, have opted to not meet force with force 'And they have decided to out box him, with a more mid to long range game tactics'.
Tyson Fury fought Derek Chisora three times 'During the first fight, Fury did attempt to meet Chisora head on which only made the fight unnecessarily more difficult. Tyson Fury won the fight, but he was unable to cancel out Derek Chisora's momentum completely'. In the remaining two trilogy fights that Fury had against Chisora, Fury fought off the back foot in both of those battles and was never able to legitimate knock out Derek Chisora'.
Note: David Haye weighing in at 210 pounds vs Derek Chisora 247 pounds. Haye became the first fighter to meet force with force and cancel out Chisora's momentum, being the first fighter to not only deck but knock out Chisora at his near peak as a fighter. Derek Chisora after this fight, would not be decked or knocked out for another 7 years almost. Chisora fought 18 more times, before eventually being legitimately knocked out again by Dillian Whyte in their rematch.
So, I would rate this fight as a difficult fight for Derek Chisora 'It is a good match up, but? People would have to admit, there are way more easier fights stylistically out there for Chisora'.
Derek Chisora last fight was up against Joe Joyce 'Joyce not so long ago, was being promoted as some sort of danger man in the Heavyweight Division. And I still personally think that Joe Joyce is a formidable opponent's for the majority of Heavyweight fighters active today beyond European level'.
Currently right now in the Heavyweight Division, there are group of fighters 'Competing at the highest level, and this can be proven by their recent resume. And those fighters are, Oleksandr Uysk, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker, Daniel Dubois, Zhilei Zhang'.
Those fighters are the highest competing fighters currently right now 'In the Heavyweight Division. But in my opinion? Considering that Derek Chisora has just fought and beaten Joe Joyce, and is now facing Otto Wallin. Those fighters are top fights beyond European level, at the very least they can be rated as high European level fights. Which is a solid level, because? The best American Heavyweight fighters outside of Deontay Wilder, are basically domestic level fighters. Very few have proven that they are truly beyond domestic level, Deontay Wilder in recent times is the only American Heavyweight Fighter who has been able to enter into World level boxing'.
Otto Wallin is a higher level fight than Jarrell Miller 'Miller has never been a World level fighter. Whereas Otto Wallin in comparison, has at points in his career? Been considered a borderline World level fighter. Otto Wallin pushed Tyson Fury in a close fight over 12 rounds and busted him up real good'.
To Conclude: The main point I am trying to make is? That Derek Chisora in the latter stages of his career 'Is fighting at a solid level. It does not appear, that he is entirely winding down his career and just ticking over and fighting in testimonial type level fights. Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin are top level fights for the majority of Heavyweight fighters beyond European level'.
Derek Chisora was interviewed the other day 'And he was asked whether any Heavyweight fighter could beat Oleksandr Uysk? Chisora replied and said that he could beat Uysk'. When I heard Chisora state this in the interview, I did not sense any sort of humour or flippancy he was for sure very serious with his statement'.
If Chisroa beat Wallin, and then potentially progressed on to win a trilogy fight vs Dillian Whyte III 'I would rate Derek Chisora as a worthy voluntary title fight for Oleksandr Uysk II. I personally don't think Chisora would be able to beat Uysk, but stylistically if Chisora could train himself into supreme condition APK. Then stylistically that match up, may still produce a great fight'.
But regardless of all of those potential future eventualities 'Otto Wallin vs Derek Chisora is solid match up. And a stylistically it is difficult fight for Chisora in my opinion. Derek Chisora is going will have to execute one of his best all round performances in recent times, in order to beat Wallin. Both in terms of the violence and pressure he brings into a fight, combined with subtle defense on the inside and solid boxing fundamentals'.
Derek Chisora is the favourite to win, but I think he deserves credit for fighting the level of opponent's such as Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin at this stage of his career etc.

How can you not like good ol Del?
It's time old man, it was time ages ago, but hell I'll be a bit sad when it's over. End of an era, that puts a period on it. This man fought Vitali and Usyk.
