Yup!!! Ryan shouldn't negotiate without Golden Boy. Whether he likes it or not, while under contract, Golden Boy has exclusive rights to promote and announce his fights. Something that Tszyu understood and respected PBC enough to not deal with Turki behind Al's back..

Well legally speaking he's entitled to a percentage, but it's more than just the money. Ryan's negotiating contracts behind his promoter's back.

The youth of today, they show no respect to their elders!

Guys, this isn't about Oscar just getting his cut - Garcia has a contract with Golden Boy, he can't just go fight for another promoter any time he feels like it. The fact that it's an exhibition is irrelevant.

This should have been negotiated through Golden Boy. That way they could have worked out not just money, but other stuff like stateside distribution, maybe negotiate other GBP fighters being on the card, etc. A whole list of things.

Ryan is a CLOWN for not bringing his own promoter in when the event is 5 weeks out. Oscar has every right to make them sweat.

I remember hearing that Ryan had fired his attorney Lupe Valencia a few months back. I wonder who's advising him now?

The thing is Ryan isn't faking, he's unstable. Dealing with him is like scuba diving with faulty equipment.

“Golden Boy Promotions has exclusive rights to Ryan Garcia’s fights,” Oscar De La Hoya, the head and namesake of the company, posted on Twitter on Tuesday. “The organizers of this event have acknowledged as such and have agreed in writing that our sign-off is needed for this event to occur. As no such sign-off has been given, as of today there is no event with Ryan Garcia.”

Just goes to show the power of promoters! Then same promoter says, "The fighters are the blame!"

The same percentage Dana Likeus took to let McDonald's face Mayweather.
