Beterbiev's foot is currently planted on Callum's throat. He's got nowhere else to go.

Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn promises Callum Smith a 'big, big fight' in 2025 'with anyone you want'

Both Liam Smith and Callum Smith would most likely sell out Anfield Football stadium against, the right opponent or in a big title fight 'Smith vs Eubank Junior 3 would for sure, sell out Anfield Football Stadium'.
I have stated this on another thread recently? Many people regard Liam Smith as the best fighter, out of the four brothers 'But I honestly think it is very close between Liam Smith and Callum Smith. And me personally I think Liam Smith is the fighters fighter. He is the fighter, who most fighters would pick as the best. I do know that David Price has admitted that Liam Smith is his favourite fighter out of the four brothers'.
If you are a boxing promoter from the UK, I think you would desire to have certain fighters from specific locations in your team 'Fighters from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. But then on a real intricate level, fighters from Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Dublin'.
Fighters from those locations, if they have ability and are consistent 'Seem to build big momentum in their careers. We have seen this time and time again throughout boxing history'.
Note: The point I am trying to make is? Callum Smith because not only of his ability, but because of the heritage and historical value of Liverpool fighters 'If he even at this stage of his career, is able to string together consecutive wins at a solid level. Then all the ingredients and environment surrounding him, will be leading him into a big fight'.
Ether a big domestic level fight, and then if he was able to win that level of a match up 'One more battle at elite level, against whoever happens to be World Champion at that time'.
It does not matter if he has already been beaten well at elite level 'Both by Canelo Alvarez and Arthur Beterbiev. Because of the historical boxing heritage which Smith is apart of, it would be easier in my opinion? For a promoter to get that type of fighter a big fight, if they are able to consistently win a few top level fights'.
This is the position both Liam Smith and Callum Smith are currently in now 'Neither of them are super elite fighters. I would not even rate them as World level fighters currently right now, on their recent form. But they are former World Champions, both competing in intriguing boxing divisions in terms of the competition and potential theme fights that can be made'.
Professional boxing and match making, is about competition 'But it is also about creating story lines, and theme's to fights. And when you look at both Liam and Callum Smith's careers and the potential fights which they could be involved in. Then you will understand that there are multiple big fights out there for them potentially'.
I have not really been inspired that much by Callum Smith's career, or any of the Smith brothers to a very high level 'It has only been in recent times, have I kind of been getting more intrigued with Liam Smith's battles and career. I think he is a solid fighter, the fighters fighter'.
To conclude: Callum Smith's loss to Arthur Beterbiev, was the first real heavy loss in his professional career 'The reason why I say this? Is because Smith's loss vs Alvarez, that performance to a slight extent could of been put down to the short preparation time he had for the fight. Callum Smith only had approximately 6 weeks to prepare for his fight against Canelo Alvarez, that is why I don't think that loss was as damaging to Smith, in comparison to Arthur Beterbiev'.
Smith's loss to Beterbiev was more damaging 'Because it was a knockout loss. But overall his effort and performance during the fight, was better than his fight vs Canelo Alvarez. Smith executed his best fight, but was just beaten by the more superior fighter on fight night'.
Boxers are competitors, nobody here knows how Callum Smith gauges his own abilities and form right now 'He may still believe that he can beat 95% of the Light Heavyweight fighters in the World. If he does hold such belief's and he is training with a passion and desire to win. Then for sure there are big fights potentially out there for him, and with a few comeback wins? People would have to consider him as a serious contender, at least to be involved in a potential future title fight' etc.

Food for the winner of Benavidez vs Morrell.
Which is of course why Hearn won’t match either of them with Callum Smith.
