Views only matter if they saw an increase in Netflix subs and those subscribers stick around for a while.

Existing subscribers tuning into the fight doesn’t mean much for them. Vast majority would have a Netflix subscription with or without this event.

Today is the first time I even bothered to read about how it is pronounced. All these years and I always thought it was the obvious way DAZN.

Anyway, on a more serious note, my cleaning lady watched Paul-Tyson the other day. She has been cleaning my house for 5 years and she never mentioned anything about boxing until now. She does not have a DAZN subscription and never will. My 12 year old son who does not know any real professional boxers, knows Jake Paul and was also talking about Paul-Tyson. He does not have a DAZN subscription either.

Are the enormous viewing figures for Netflix an indicator of future success for DAZN? I think you get my drift with this one.

Agreed. I don't think DAZN will ever be as mainstream as Netflix. Sports (which DAZN peddles) are a niche interest compared to something like movies and documentaries (what Netflix peddles). OTT apps, unlike channels on cable television, are an a la cart item. With the latter, I might stumble up on ESPN and maybe I stumble up on boxing (or another sport).

Nobody will ever accidentally stumble across DAZN. However, of Netflix continues to dabble in boxing and people continue to consume it, some of those people may decide the like the sport enough to watch it elsewhere...to include DAZN. A trickle down effect I suppose...no game changer but a positive for the sport nonetheless.

first of all dazn charges too much money

second of all tyson is the most famous boxer in history probably tied with Ali. every non boxing fan at work was talking about how they were going to watch it because everyone at work knows who jake paul and mike tyson are.

none of these people know who a beterbiev, usyk, tank davis or even canelo are. they probably havent heard of a boxer since mayweather/pacquaio/de la hoya.

they dont care about talent, skill ect, they just heard the name mike tyson
