Does it, and who is going to pay for it, if the TV networks or Netflix etc doesnt then it doesnt happen and they cannot afford the fighters purses, it can only happen if the fighters take drastic pay cuts and thats not happening.Originally posted by Punching Diva
No everyone would have pirated the live stream. PPV needs to go!!!Leave a comment:

Pay attention, Turki Al-Sheikh. The mass audience doesn't care about quality boxing. But they love a freak show.
If you really want to grow Riyadh Season, lure Micky Ward back into the ring against a YouTuber.Leave a comment:

You must not be a real boxing fan or are new to the sport. The ppv model was in place long before Mr Al Haymon ever touched the sport. Boxing has been fleecing its fans for decades. And even still, ppv is not solely responsible for the decline of boxing. Boxing business is responsible. For pay sanctioning bodies(all of them), shady promoters (all of them), trash a$$ rankings, etc etc etc, among many other things. **** is the wild west. And my household was most certainly not counted among the almost 60M viewers. Wouldnt have watched it if they payed me.Last edited by Rbs3rd; 11-17-2024, 12:10 AM.Leave a comment:

Precisely.
Nah man. This doesn't translate the same as PPV. Most people already have Netflix. You could also join for only 7 bucks (with ads) and gets all the content besides the fight. I'm willing to bet, if this was your typical 80+ dollar PPV, it wouldn't even crack a million buys.
This was an easy watch for millions. It was on a Friday, nearly free considering how many people have Netflix, or they subscribed for 7 bucks and will cancel immediately after.
If they had put this on PPV, it would’ve done lukewarm at best.
Where was the financial gain going to come? From boxing fans? Or Jake Paul fans (tweeners and teenagers who don’t have money to just casually drop $70-$80 on an event but rather just pirate it).
Paul smartly went to Netflix and fleeced them. $40 million and $20 million for Tyson…without taking into consideration all the other fighters on the undercard and Katie and Amanda who both got probably $2 million a piece.
This was a huge opportunity for Netflix to advertise their platform and new series.
Good Lord…everyone was there. Shaq, Jerry, Holyfield, Lennox, Rosie Perez, Mauro, Jones Jr., Andre Ward, Claressa Shields…who else did I miss?
I still think Paul’s first loss is going to be via body shot.Last edited by TintaBoricua; 11-16-2024, 10:12 PM.Leave a comment:
