Madrimov beats Boots at 154

I thought Boots was the future until last night.
Aside from his lack of defense he doesnt seem to set traps or have great ring iq.
he got power and skill and speed but that only gets you so far until you fight a top guy. And at 154 there are killers there. I think Madrimov’s awkwardness would have Boots confused

He is a big WW so a lot will depend on how much he can improve with the extra weight, and how much they improve their way of thinking after that fight, they need to stop thinking in terms of PBF flash and adopt a Marvin Haglers fighting mind, Bozzie is bad because he is pumping his boys tires up beyond reality, his corner was a joke and totally blind to whats going on, and this is having the wrong frame of mind in Boots, sit your showboating ass down between rounds, lock onto your opponent like a Lion and become a systematic machine just like Bam did in the fight before, that's the mindset, Boots has the ability he just got to concentrate on the fight and his old man needs to shut up and respect the opponent after all his son is doing the fighting while Bozzie beats an overbearing drum.

He should stay at 147 where his talent level hits the ceiling

Madrimov is a hard fight for anyone, Crawford barely skated by and crawford was dominating and knocking everyone out. Boots had a size advantage over everyone at 147 and when that is erased when he moves up to a full size jr middle who uses movement and has great stamina he will probably lose unless the judges and ref help him out.

Look at his resume. Not a lot of elites on it. Weak division. He could of been great in a different era or stomped into the dirt.

Unless, it comes by way of KO; Then I just don’t see how he can defeat Jaron Ennis. Both his punch volume and workrate are just too low.

He only lands single counter punches at a time. Besides, Boots is a lot younger, naturally wider and punches a lot stronger than Terence Bud Crawford does.

Bud is a lethal counter puncher who managed to hurt Madrimov. If Bud can do it then so can Jaron “Boots” Ennis.
